Thoughts on rims & things

So I posted a thread a few weeks earlier on what rims to buy for my build on 28 hole hubs and there were a few suggestions that I really really considered and decided on the Velocity aeroheads!

I do have to wait a week or so because the LBS doesnt stock them in 28 and they have to order it from velocity.

so while I wait I'd like to hear your thoughts and things about this particular rim.. and yes I know there are many threads on this rim here on BF but they're all on SS & fixed gear and I wanted a C&Ver's perspective

thanks

awesome rim; hope you got the o/c version for the rear, especially with only 28h.

Velocity stuff is really solid. I recommend it all the time, and not just because they sponsor me, but because their products are really quality and deserve to have their name out there.

well it's only going to be a six speed, 7 speed tops. It shouldn't make that much of a difference right? it'll only be slighty off center.

it'll be like a normal rear wheel, so it'll be as good as any other 28h 7speed with a quality lightweight rim...

hellojoben, I doubt you'll have an issue with the 28H rim in a well built wheel. I've had a DA 9S/Open Pro/15-14 set for about 10 years without any problems whatsoever. I do suggest you build with butted spokes. I first used them on a CXP12 32H build and they've been better than a nearly as old, and comparably ridden, CXP10 32H built w/straight 14s.

thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to have my LBS build them to the right specifications
