Is this a Peugeot px10?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying this bike i saw advertised online.
It is reynolds 531 with Stronglight 49D .
It looks like a px10 but has painted rear stays.
Did any px10s have non chrome stays in the 70s?
It is for sale for quite a cheapish price and looks like new practically from the photo.
The saddle is an ideale 80.

It's a PR10. Only the three main tubes are Reynolds 531. It's a good bike, but worth less than a PX10.

Unless there's something wrong with it, that bike better be yours already.

Yep i've just bought it.
I missed out on a px10 today and so this is the next best thing.
I see many people selling these as px10s though.

Congrats! You snagged a truly fine bike! - and it appears to be in stellar condition.

PS- You probably already know all this, but make sure all of the bearings have been serviced before you put any appreciable mileage on it - you don't want to damage the cups/races. And inspect the rubber carefully - ( this generally means replacing or remounting them at least. )

I believe it's a '75. The '74 had different decals and the '76 had unpainted lugs.

It's a nice bike. Some people swear that it rides just as well as a PX10. It's just a bit heavier.

Here are some shots.
It rides amazing!
Although it has a bulge in the rear tubular so i need to replace it.
Also it is very light and has cinelli stem and bars.

Bikes: Forty of them

They're wonderful bikes. I have a '75 just like yours that I got as a bare frame and built with a Nuovo Record mix and it's become one of my favorites. I also have a mostly original '78 (I think) which USED to be one of my favorites . The '78 also cost me more than yours did so you're in good shape.

This is Canal St Martin in Paris.
If you have seen the french movie Amelie ( if not then you should ) It is the canal where she is skimming stones.

So i swapped the wheels with a set of Rigida super chromix ,until i can replace the tubulars ,and discovered the tyres weren't even glued on when i deflated the tyres.
Could they of come off while riding? Luckily i only took it for a slow test ride.

Lucky you weren't a skimming stone Daveyyates, with those un-glued tires ! Study some good threads and websites if you haven't glued tubulars before.
Or, perhaps you have. Happy riding. Neat bike.
