My new to me Schwinn Voyageur

I finally got sick of looking around for a touring bike that was my size to pop up and posted a WTB ad on the local CL. This is what I got. One owner who claims under 100 miles on the bike ( But it sat in a barn ). I drove for a hour to check it out sight unseen this is what I came home with.

It will be undergoing a full restoration once I unload my Trek 520 and Panasonic Touring Deluxe ( both 61cm) . I plan on taking full advantage of VOs free shipping promotion there having right now.

This bike has every braze on I think I would ever need.

Very cool, sweet bike!
Voyageurs are quite the hot topic here lately. That one looks nice and I bet the paint will shine when you're done with it. I've got an '83 Voyageur SP, but I'd love to find another newer one like everybody here seems to be coming across.

'87?

Would have the date stamped on the head badge.

Would hate to ask how much you wound up paying.

Nice

Its stamped with 86, But it looks to be a 87. This is a US built bike correct? I thought most of them were Panasonic, theres no number on the headtube.

I think were talking about different things. My Panasonic built Super Sport has the date code on the headbadge and a serial number stamped on the headtube.

Nice find on the bike! I have a twin to it in the same Imperial Rose color. My headbadge is stamped 0667 indicating 1987. You'll love it - V'gers are great bikes.

Nice pick up. I would love one of these. Curious to know why you're unloading your Trek 520 for this one.

A late 80s Voyageur is a much better loaded touring bike than a 520, IMO. My '88 actually has a date code on the headbadge from December 1987.

P.S. Your Voyageur can run 700c wheels like a champ.

+1 on 700 wheels. I compared the canti mounts to my Bridgestone T700 and it looks like the Voyageur was almost made for 700c...

It's Voyageur madness month!
