1960s Raleigh Olympic??
Was there such a model?
In the early eighties when I was in my mid-teens I had a bad wreck on my bike and was given a beautiful old Raleigh by a friend of my mothers.
He said it was about a 1966, I can't recall a lot of details but it had a Brooks saddle and it was light blue in color. I do seem to recall that it had the name "Olympic" or "Olympique" on it and there was a decal with the Olympic rings on the bike.
I know in the 80s Raleigh built an Olympic but this bike was obviously quite old when I got it and of course being a stupid teenager I sold it about a year after I got my drivers license.
I wish I had known more about bikes at that time and I regret parting with it to this day, no pictures exist either.

Probably not an answer to your question but a Raleigh Olympian is on a local CL near me, from the 80's instead of the 60's though.

Yeah, I knew about the Olympian.
I had been looking at the Headbadge site but their scans don't go back as far as 1966, The year I was told on the bike really stuck in my head because I was born in 1967 and I remember the bike being a year older than I was.

It's not a model that I've ever heard of or seen from Raleigh in the 60s--at least for US domestic sale.

There were some models that didn't get officially brought over here. Might be a domestic market model.
I've got what I think is a "Rapide". There's some low end "Rapide"s from the 80s that there's a lot of info about but I've only seen one mention of a '66 Rapide.
Did yours have the standard headbadge or did it have that "Anniversary" headbadge like this;
