Decal guy ???

Has anyone dealt with that decal guy on ebay from Australia? He doesn't seem to be interested in communication. No answer to emails I've sent.

I have bought from him many times, very nice stuff. WAiting for an order now in fact. But you're right, doesn't seem to respond to ebay messages.

I heard somewhere he takes a long vacation (holiday?) in December. I'll second the nice stuff - I got a set for my Cilo last year.

He is SUPER busy and overwhelmed most of the time. I have been waiting on a custom order since at least September. If you check his ebay store right now he has put all his sales on hold for the time being in the interest of "catching up".

He says on his ebay store he is taking a 10 day break.

He does very nice work, and has been prompt to return my emails.

When he isn't "on" or playing catch up, it does take longer.

Thanks guys. Yes, I saw his notice, but thought it said he would be back on the 10th. I guess I'll have to wait til he's caught up.

Bikes: too many or not enough

I'll chime in too. Very satisfied. I have bought 3 or 4 decals sets from him. He recently also started doing pantographing and I think that has put him even farther behind.

Bikes: enough bikes to qualify for Hoarders......

I have bought a full set for a Gitane Supercorsa and french 531 decals, both were absolutely beautiful.

Yes, those look fantastic. Guess I'll just have to be patient. These are all pressure sensitive stickers I presume, rather than water slide decals? They look great.

If I had more money in the bike budget I'd have sprung for the Raleigh decals he has on ebay. I'll probably end up getting some in the future to repolace what I did buy.

I bought a full set from a seller in Thailand. Not nearly the quality you see in the above pic. I took a chance and got what I paid for (cheap). I'd suggest you buy from Cyclomondo based on the pics above, and my experience with the other.

+20 on the positive review of Greg Softley and Cyclomondo. I have several sets from him and have also had direct dealings with him of special projects. Terrific work and a keen interest in doing it right. What more can you ask? Speedy - nah.

BTW - I have been trying to get in touch with JR at VeloCals about doing a reproduction Specialized Sequoia decal set but I have not had any response to this web site/email. Anybody know what the current status of VeloCals is?

Thanks - Jim

I received a decal from him about two weeks ago. It took about 10 days or more from the time I placed the order.

Aussies take around two full months of vacation a year. They're really good at two things. Drinking and taking "holidays".

cyclomondo aka the decal nazi. excellent work, just dont bother him with questions or returns/exchanges -- not exactly the friendliest customer service when there is a problem. he is always right even when he's wrong. "no decals for you!"

i'll just add to everyone's positive reviews of greg softley/cyclomondo. i've gotten several repro decal sets from him and they're always nice:

foil TA crank decals:

french reynolds decals:

and an entire raleigh comp GS ensemble which he put together for me as a custom kit for a very reasonable price:

sometimes he is slow to respond, but he has been very reliable. he often throws in little extra freebies like downtube stripe decals or country of origin decals...

Jeez, glad I never had any problems! Honestly, being a graphic designer, I understand how much work goes into this stuff. We're lucky its available.

BTW, I received a Durifort set from Velo-Cals recently... very nice!

Beautiful pics Southpaw. Lovely bikes, and, good looking decals. Unfortunate some have had run-ins with him but it's been my experience that some "only game in town" guys can be like that. Eager to get a set, but ...I can wait.
