Sorry everyone.....sorry! I know I've just started a thread featuring this bike but i just couldn't resist adding it to this I-talions thread. Sorry.

Now.....there's an "Italian Stallions" thread somewhere in the archives isn't there? Better go searching for that one too.

I think God got tired of my whining and blessed me with my first I-talian bike, a Guerciotti Columbus SLX. I am very happy! Pardon the grime, it still needs a good cleaning.

I have neglected somehow to post this one here. 1978 (?) Alfio Bonnano. Small Sicilian (!) builder, very high quality. May be the only one in the states, total fluke of a find.

Exceptionally beautiful, but you know this. I'd love to know more about the builder.

I would as well. I know he died sometime in the early aughts. I've seen three others total, all of them owned by Italians, clearly dating into the nineties. Mine is the earliest example I have seen yet. The other examples are quite nice as well. What little info I have took some digging. Apparently his children were not interested in continuing his work; he had another person (described by someone who knew the painter as "an angel") doing the paint from what I understand.

I've debated conning my GF into vacationing in Catania, but I think she'd rather go to Verona.
