measuring the derailer hanger

Hi.

I'm awaiting a cyclone mk II derailer, and i found this info on it:
https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/...283500%29.html

I want to run a 12/28 cassette on it, but i'm not exactly clear on how one measures his derailer hanger. Any tips?

thanks

Bikes: Many

Since some point in time all derailleurs have been manufactured to fit one of two hanger configurations. The short road hanger and a longer touring/MTB hanger. Those are alike except the distance between hole centers. Not every one pics one or the other, some find something between. I hope this helps.

So, if i'm reading this right, i measure from the center of where the axle would be to the center of where the RD bolt goes?

well, i measured center-to-center, and it looks like @25mm. Pretty short, so i reckon i'll be lookin at a 13/26, and maybe revise the chainrings. i oughta be ok, i reckon. Maybe go from 50/38 to 50/34... That'd give me a high of 103" and a low of about 40".

I'm mostly psyched that i get to use one of those really weird ferrules for the RD loop. This is a pretty weird frame.

Also shows a total tooth capacity of 28t. 13/26 + 50/34 = 29t, so you're on the edge per spec. I'm running a 52/34 + 12/22 = 28t, and I would say it has room for more.

yes, but 'twas my bad, typing 13/26. Meant to type 13/23, which'd deliver the 40" low. That's likely as low as i'd need
