Sigh...disappointment...
1961, 50th Anniversary, chrome Bottecchia frame. Well, I hope it went to a good home.

Did it sell for more than you were willing or able to pay, if so then there is nothing to be disappointed about.
One thing I've seen with the Bay is that when something unique shows up or sells for a wild price then often soon thereafter another one will show up and will usually sell for less. There is hope.

That was a beautiful frame, and I am kind of surprised it did not go for even more. Seller has impeccable feedback, and shipping charge was reasonable. Definitely over my bike budget limit regardless.

I was so excited when it first came up. I put $550 in my sniper program and really though that would do it. Then I checked it about two days before it ended and it was already at $240 and I suspected it wasn't going to happen. 24 hours before the end it was at $501 and I knew it would be out of reach by the end.

I lost something on ebay last night that I was sure nobody was going to bid on. Then with about a minute left the fur started flying!
Are those 2 lower level Bottecchia frames still on ebay? I think there was a blue 50cm and a green "barn find" on there last week. I would really like to have a Bottecchia myself. But after being outbid on the Professional that was on Ebay about 1 or 2 months I realize they are probably out of my range. That and the fact that I need a 54-56 size frame. It seems that everyone and their dog out there also wants a 54-56 in whatever brand!
