red one
hi bianchigirll, thanks for the welcome.
i'm in the US... in washington state. i got both of the bikes from my dad. he purchased the white one in germany himself-- we used to live there. not sure where he picked up the red one.
the red "special" has shimano suntour arx parts.

as far as the white one: i feel dumb about it-- but on the other side of the bike, after riding it around for the last couple weeks-- i noticed a decal on the top tube that reads "campione d'italia" it has ofmega "master" shifting parts and modolo brakes.

so the red one you think is an '84? and the white one an '87?
i'm not sure if i'm going to keep both. but if i had to get rid of one, which do you think i should keep? the campione has a little bit more surface rust than the special. but that's probably minor.
thanks!

Hi Roboto sorry I have not been on much the last week. if both bikes fit I would keep the campione as it is simply the better of the two

hi everybody, i have a question, i,ve just buy my first Bianchi, and the last owner tell me that the was repainted in other color and he dont know anything of the bike )the bike was a present for a dead familiar) i think that the bike is a record but i cant confirm that, the bike has a touriste pipe, a ofmega crankset, huret ?? speeds, tubi bianchi 1-20 calibrati. i dont have the bike here that is the reason coz i dont know the speeds.

Tubi Bianchi 1-20 Calibrati was the high tensile steel used on the entry level models. If it is a Rekord, it is the lowest version. You should try to get some pictures to post. Also, the serial number and it's location will tell us the year.

I wonder if this is a European or Canadian model?

Can anyone cast any light on my recent purchase!? I think it's a late 80's model. It's a Bianchi Volpe. Serial number is 9C28267, it has Suntour components. Bar end shifters.
I bought it a couple days ago and rode it to and from work today just to prove it wouldn't die on me! 46 mile round trip.

The model designation is not built into the serial number. Based your tubeset description and the stamped rear dropouts it is an entry level model, but that's all I can say at this point. If it is a Rekord, it is an entry level variant. The only other thing that might help to identify the model are the brands and models of the original components, if you have them.

Wonderful, thank you! I did a 100k ride today on it. The only thing that happened was that somehow i must have pushed against the left shifter, so it went from indexed to friction until I stopped and figured out how to fix it.

Hi folks, I just joined here. I have an 80's Italian made Bianchi with SN A1005L4. From what I could gather in earlier posts, it is more than likely a 1984 model - I just can't figure out which one. The guy I bought it from was the original owner. He bought it in '85 in California. The only thing I could dig up on line that matched were the Campy components. Campagnolo G010-SM, Victory. (thanks to velobase.com). This matches what the guy remembered - that they were the Victory line. I would like to find out which model & year for sure. Any help or pointers would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Wow T-Mar - thanks! I think you nailed it. I only used the rear derailleur as a guide - the brake levers are not drilled & the rear derailleur has black wheels, not white. Triomphe it is! I didn't have pictures handy earlier, so here are a few. The guy I bought it from just had it in to the local Trek store for new cables & to clean & grease the bearings. Apparently they didn't want to bother to clean anything else - chainrings are a tad dirty, but in good shape.
Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help!
