Bianchi Experts! Help me identify my Bianchi Pista?
Hey Bianchi Experts,
I need a lot of help identifying this Bianchi Pista I picked up off of ebay.

It's been horribly repainted by the original owner and I just want to find out more about it.
It has an Ofmega headset, I'm guessing Bianchi pantoed Ofmega cranks, gipiemme drop outs, ITM drops and stem, montreal tubular rims to what I think are ofmega hubs.
It has a slack geometry and looks a lot like this bike here: https://www.myfixedgear.net/bianchi-p...#comment-40447
What year was this bike made, of what and where? I'm guessing its a 1991 ish pista but I can't seem to find anything about them on the internet
Thanks guys!

Bikes: '74 Raleigh LTD-3, '76 Motobecane Grand Jubile, '83 Fuji TSIII (customized commuter), '10 Mercier Kilo WT (fixed obsession), '83 Bianchi Alloro, '92 Bridgestone MB-1 (project), '83 Specialized Expedition (project), '79 Peugeot UO-8 (sold)
Butt ugly paintjob. Yuck, but possibly a good-to-great bike underneath...
You need to help us out by taking many more photos, preferably DRIVESIDE. Is that a steel fork? If so, show us the fork crown and help us
determine if that's original. After you snap a shot of the fork crown, pull the fork and look to see if there are any markings or letters/numbers on the steerer to help identify the tubing (if there's a Dove, then it's Columbus tubing). Show us the headtube lugs and any holes in the headtube where there was once a headbadge/logo (might not find any, in which case it was a decal). Show us the bottom bracket and its lugwork. Is the frame drilled for brakes?
The name emblazoned on the seatstay leads me to assume it's from the 80's. It was kind of "en vogue" then.

I agree the paint is awfull especially if it is one of '90 Pistas with that great matte black/ Celeste finish. I looked through the catalogs and I have to agree I think it is one of theose
what an awfull thing to do to a bike. hopefully T-Mar will be able to tell us more.

I think somewhere in the mid 80's they stopped selling the "Super Pista" (high end) and the "Eco Pista" (low end) and sort of combined them as the "Pista" (middle end?). These had the the seat-stay caps like your bike and Gipiemme drop-outs. I think that's what you have but would need to see better pics. I have good photos of one to compare them to.

You can't tell much from those pics. Based on the geometry it would appear to be no earlier than mid-1980s but that's about all I can say. In addition to the previous request for extra pics, I'd like the serial number.

My Ugly Bianchi
Thank you so much guys!
Here are a few pics of my ugly paint job pista

I'll post more when I can get a better camera to take some better pictures.
Maddox, it does have a steel fork and the frame and fork isn't drilled for breaks. There are no head badge holes too so I'm assuming there was a decal instead.
Bianchigirll, I know, I almost threw up when I saw the bike - I'm planning to get it repainted back to its original colors whatever they were.
T-Mar! the serial number on the bike is 9•D 7396 - hopefully this will shed some light into my bikes origins? thanks!

where is this bike? in the US there was no Pista in the '89 catalog and I know it is not a fair comparison but your angles look steeper han the '88. the '90/'91 Pista, which looks relaxed like yours came in a beauitful Matte Black main frame and Celeste rear triangle and fork. the frame was built with Columbus CroMor
I'll try and remember to scan a pic when i get home on Tuesday
