The PY10's gold stem has been reborn.
EDIT: Better photos!

-----------------------
...thanks to a kind gentleman named Lars Kramer, who sold me an NOS replacement stem. The "Midas Touch" look is back:

I will take better photos over the weekend.

Believe me, she suffered without it:

Now it looks fantastic - you could see it being displayed to the Goldfinger theme.

Gorgeous! Do take more pictures including the bike as well. I love the simple clean design of older bike parts.
This reminds me of an old German Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. He was known for designing simple buildings but complex in thought. Sleek beautifully finished materials served as the ornamentation themselves. He also designed a very famous chair.

Haven't seen any that use glass sheet for walls though; those that I have seen use conventional, framed windows.

Very classy bike.
What all is finished in gold? Stem, brakes, brake levers, derailleurs... what about shifters, and rims?
And are the chain rings original? Pedals?
Just curious, trying to learn about these vintage top of the line Peugeots. Thanks.

All the parts are gold anodized with exception to the headset, hubs, pedals, and Stronglight 105 crankset plus its rings.
This is not the typical setup for a PY10 though, and they did change throughout the production run.
That said, I took care of those photos I promised:

Mon dieu! C'est formidable! I sadly had to pass up on a set of Simplex gold deraillers to go with my MAFAC's. I wish I'd bought them, but that would've meant no food for the rest of the month. Choices, choices. BTW, somebody HAS to make a gold-parts-register so putting together a Freaky-deaky Dutch Goldmember bike will be a breeze

Bikes: Ruckelshaus Randonneur, Specialized Allez (early 90's, steel), Ruckelshaus Path Bomber currently being built
I'm trying to decide whether that blue or the light Peugeot green is going to be the color of the next frame I build...

Total agreement here
I have a cockpit consiting of Philippe stem, Philippe bar and MAFAC levers. Alll in gold ano. There is also tape and there are cables. It looks like the cockpit was prepared, but I doubt it was ever fitted, as there are no marks. Does someone recognize it? Is this cockpit according PY-10 spec for a certain year?
