Need to replace a bent fork, where to find one!?!

I have an 80's Nishiki 54" Custom Sport with a bent fork. I don't even know where to find a replacement or an aftermarket fork. Any ideas?

I think that you probably mean 54 cm. If it's really a 54" frame I want to see a picture!

Have you thought about getting the fork straighten??

I took a crash on my 79 Competition. Took it to the shop, and they told me the fork was bent, and recommended a shop that straightens frames and forks. Took the bike there, and they put the fork in a jig, and low and behold the fork was not bent!! .. Also, if it was, and the bend was not that bad, they would have straighten it..

Hope this helps...

I was thinking the same thing!

check your local shop! we used to keep several chrome 27" forks in stock and you never know they may have a fork from a broken frame that will match you color closely.

Due to the vary terms people use to list things on ebay, I just search "fork" in the "cycling" section. Then I scroll and weed the out. That fork shouldn't be too hard to replace.

Bikes: one of each

Check the rear brake reach. If you can use a 700 in back then there's no problem in the front.

Jeez, around here, bent forks are a dime a dozen. If I'd known you were looking, I could have salvaged a bent fork or two for you for the shipping cost! j/k

I am pretty sure it will. it may need to be cut down a bit but it will be long enough.

Bikes: Many. Ralieigh sports`s, Raleigh Superbe, sears Spaceliner, Firestone supercruisers, many vintage mountain bikes, random cruisers, and other unique bikes.

local bike co ops always have plent of forks. you can also fix it yourself but it's tricky, I fixed one bent like that on one of my early 30's bikes

Bikes: Cinelli, Paramount, Raleigh, Carlton, Zeus, Gemniani, Frejus, Legnano, Pinarello, Falcon

I found a couple on ebay recently for a fair price. One fit a frame I needed it to by cutting 3/8" off.

Getting them threaded is another matter. One shop wanted $15. a centimeter, or about 60 bucks for my needs. Another where I left it wants $25. total, but all their dies are supposedly out for sharpening, so who knows when it will get done!

Its really easy if you have the tools, but I don't have the die and holder!
