Rob,
Glad to see you made it home safely and was able to work in 2 more days of riding. Thanks so much for organizing the BRP Adventure 2011! Despite the hard climbing work, it was fun, and great to be outdoors in the sunshine.
I just arrived home in NH about 2 hours ago, and guess what? NO SNOW! Couldn't find a trace of the white stuff in my yard before darkness fell. I can finally update my avatar!
I found my 1982 Raleigh Superbe on Atlanta CL last summer. The wheels were damaged beyond repair after being driven over by a car in a driveway. It seemed like a reasonable buy at $200 despite the need for wheels.
I picked it up for the two reasons: The gold lacquer finish over the all chrome frame is really sweet, and ScottRyder was desperately looking for a complete Suntour Superbe groupo. Originally I had planned to build it with '70s era Nuovo and Record Campagnolo gear, but my nephew, who keeps the bike at his house and calls it "Goldilocks" had other ideas. So it is a hodgepodge of modern and some vintage stuff. For now it gets the job done.

Its Great looking bike!
I remember that bike posting and not having the money to even consider going after it. As I recall the pictures were not that good and I think I recall him really down playing the bike. Thanks for posting up the additional pictures.
