san rensho mtb
Hello
I picked up this 3Rensho MTB recently.
They guy I bought it off had it for 5years & bought it from a Japanese guy who had it new for 3 years.
I have not been able to track down any info on this bike. I have seen a picture of it in a Japanese web site, but nothing else.
If anyone has any information on it, I would appreciate it.

I'm moving this to Classic & Vintage (from Introductions). I'm not sure 8 years is old enough to qualify as c&v, but it's worth a shot anyway.

That's the craziest looking San Rensho I've ever seen, and definitely the first San Rensho MTB...

Thanks for your responses.
I found this pic on the internet

All in Japanese though, I struggle with English. I should set up my profile I live in Sydney Australia, where there is very little knowledge of 3Rensho - I am not a bike fanatic so don't mix with biking enthusiasts.
I'll post details of the components.
Thanks again
The bike frame looks the same

San Rensho made a lot of MTBs over the years, using a number of different designs. that said, I've never seen that particular one before. I'd also be a bit suspicious if it's only 8 years old. As far as I know, San Rensho stopped making bikes more than ten years ago after Konno (the main builder) was paralyzed in a car accident. Makino continued to build under the Rensho name for a few years after that, but then moved to using his name (Makino) on the bikes instead of Rensho soon after.

Interesting bike, I think this is the first downhill bike I have seen with a kickstand

I will take a stab at this...this is mostly pure conjecture, but that won't stop me from guessing.
I think some Chinese factory commandeered the San Rensho name and stuck it on a midrange (at best) Chinese/Taiwanese frame and exported it. Until I see more detailed photos, that is what I am going with
Please don't hate me.

I've sent the photos to the link, thnaks CV-6 - no response as yet.
The guy I bought if off gave me the dates , so perhaps he had shorten the bikes age somewhat , so 8 years is doubtful
As far as the kick stand is concerned - I have to give the bike in for a service - I haven't ridden it as yet (need some cash first!!!) I am going to remove it. Shame to have to undo those 4 beautiful bolts - best made bike stand I've seen!
Don't hate you love2pedal, I would like to trace it's origin. What photos would you need?
Thanks for your responses
