I know he did some vocals and instrumentation, but I wouldn't call him a member.

Queen is one of those bands that I mostly disliked back in the day but now really enjoy hearing the non-radio hits. I love Brian May's guitar sound(s). It has everything to do with We Are the Champions being overplayed at every sporting event.

I hear him when I listen to Katy Lied...especially "Chain Lightning"
@jimmy, you can play me "Don't stop me Now" anytime and I am ready to rock....I don't care how gay that song is

As long as we're on the subject of overplayed/over-rated........ The Beatles. There, I said it. Cripes.

I'm just going to say it...Pet Sounds is not the be all and end all landmark album it's praised as. It's a nice album with some nice harmonies and some nice production.
Oh - and The Who are criminally over praised and over credited. A poor man's Kinks.

It's a good album, I own it and I like it. People make it out to be this seminal album though...and it's just a really good album.

I have a strong distaste for The Who. They should have packed it in after the '67 Monterey pop fest

There is a 'Classic Albums' short documentary about Aja, one of a series done for UK TV some years back. Not really a great doc but there is some interesting stuff in it. Michael McDonald explains how much effort was required to get his contribution just right: 'Oooooooh' and 'Aaaaahhh' in 'Deacon Blues' for example. That was his best work as far as I'm concerned. But why am I still posting in this thread? Only a fool would say that? Ha, *I'm* a fool to do your dirty work!

It is kind of funny, I was pretty neutral on them until Pretzel Logic came out, and at first I really didn't like it. Years later I liked it with a vengeance, I have liked pretty much everything they have done since. I have at least 2 of their CD's in my truck player at all times. I love Aja, I think it is the best album of the 70's.
But back to bikes.....is chasing bikes for fun and/or profit a Glamour Profession?

Ok finally, i'm not the only one. I DETEST The Who. There are a lot of bands that were great , groundbreaking, and wonderful back in the day. The beatles, pink floyd, led zepplin. But, i dont want to listen to them anymore simply because ive heard it so many times i'm just not into it anymore. People who are still listening to the exact same **** they wefe listening to 20 years ago just annoy me. Live a little! There is so much good and new music out there to experience. Or even if not new, new to you.
Oh and, the radio sucks and always has.

Man I regret coming to this debate so late in the game. I would have thought "Spandex jackets for everyone" would be a motto that would resonate with cyclists... maybe we're too retro to wear Spandex?

When I got back into riding in '08, I was kind of looking for a new bike because I had crashed my bike boom Nishiki and bent the frame. I heard an older lady from my church had some bikes she was going to donate to the church garage sale and took a sneak peek at them and ended up buying them both.

I still have them:

Like them or not led z was a bit of a game changer for the time and the same can be said for pink floyd and of course the beatles.
The point is, who cares, listen to something new and move on. Or dont, but i certainly wont have much to talk to you about musically.
Also, there are a few bands that if i hear people like, i feel like we must have nothing in common musically. Matchbox 20 is one of them. So is the dave mathews band.

There are newer groups I dig, but honestly...most of the time...I'm perfectly happy listening to Chuck Berry, even if I've heard it 10,000 times already.

That's a really cool transformation on the Nishiki.
Alas the Peugeot is too small for my taste, so it will have to find a new home. Everything must go.

Oh, that's a good one. I was trying to think of a band that was annoying but also insanely popular. Creed came to mind, but fortunately they have long since passed.
