Long time back. I went to school with their cover artist, Wes Freed (as well as several members of Gwar, but therin lies another tale).

well yeah, I think we established it was opinion a few pages back :)

that doesnt mean I can't keep footnoting my opinions though :)

For the record...I won't be satisfied unless this thread is longer than the one about the Creme.

I had a friend who was the 4th member of Bloodhound Gang at one point.

They all went to Perkiomen Valley High School, kinda near Skippack. Is your friend from there?

Ah thanks, that explains a lot! I was beginning to wonder.

In that spirit, isn't it time we start piling on about what the OP was expecting, anyway? Come to think of it, wasn't this thread about bicycles once? I mean really crappy ones, anyone remember?

Oh, and before we lay the 'who recorded the first concept album' thing to rest completely, I have to point out that Ogden's Nut Gone Flake and Days of Future Passed both preceded Circle Game and S F Sorrow by many months.

You already did! Who wants to start on Kansas?

-holiday76 05-12-11 12:04 PM

WHen I rode my motorcycle cross country a few years ago my least favorite part was Kansas. I feel the same way about the group.

Forget Kansas (wish I could)........ Am I the only person in the world who HATES Rush? And Thin Lizzy, to boot.

>gaaa<

I have a theory about this...

Bands named after geographical locations are almost invariably terrible...and the larger the area, the worse the band.

Think Europe and Asia...or America.

I hate Rush.

-holiday76 05-12-11 12:09 PM

I also hate Rush, and Yes.

Alabama.

Boston.

Chicago.

You're onto something, Aaron!

I've never been to Rush, though. Where's that? Judging by how terrible the band is, it must be a pretty big place.

There should be a band called Turkey.

Most honest band of the 00's. Former member Jason Isbell is great as well. How about Son Volt/ Uncle Tupelo /Jay Farrar? Any fans?

I can't believe no one has mentioned The Moody Blues in this thread yet.

And one I want to throw in. There are always bands that people try to cut out. Stone Temple Pilots were always labelled as a Pearl Jam knock off or imitators of insert name here grunge band. Why? I guess not being from Seattle was strike one. Strike two was they made some songs that became huge hits and were over played. (speaking of over played, I despise Nirvana and would be content to never hear them again). Strike three... not certain here. I guess strike three is Weiland hasn't ended up dead after his drug problems like all the people that are labeled as the grunge greats. Once you dig a little some of the songs are fantastic. DeLeo's guitar sounds like most other grunge but there's so much more going on than the power chords used by most of them.

Gentlemen - the "creme" thread topped out at 240 - we need 91 replies to tie.

Are we up for it?

Are We Not Men?

Yes, yes and yes...and Wilco for good measure!

I was actually in a Son Volt video, or so I;ve heard, with some friends. We were at a concert and apparently can be seen in the video. I forget which song oddly enough.
