Countdown to Ecstasy?

I've got 2 hours til I get outta work and head over to my old Landlord's house.

I spoke to him today and he told me he removed 2 bikes from a house he owns that the previous tenants had left there. "One's a Giant and the other's a Peugeot.....you want em?"

Heh why not....

So....its probably a UO-8 or worse, but what MIGHT it be?

KonAaron Snake 05-10-11 02:08 PM

Maybe an Orient Express?

Zaphod Beeblebrox 05-10-11 02:11 PM

I'd actually be pretty happy with that!

Me too! Monster Truck (bike) rebuild.

auchencrow 05-10-11 02:18 PM

You know very well that it is a 1960's ruby-red PX10. :)

Great snag!

Oregon Southpaw 05-10-11 02:20 PM

I wouldn't get anything done the rest of the day, particularly since I saw a frickin' gorgeous blue Pug mixte on the way in today.

I have been riding my U08 recently, and man do I love that bike. Hope something good turns up!

Zaphod Beeblebrox 05-10-11 02:24 PM

Boy you guys are all hung up on the Pug.... no love for the Giant??

I tell ya I've always wanted one of those 26" wheel'd "Big Boy BMX's" they made.

KonAaron Snake 05-10-11 02:26 PM

I'd do anything to get my grubby hands on a Raleigh Burner BMX in red and black...I know the feeling.

By do anything I mean gladly pay up to $100 so long as its location was convenient.

Good luck with the freebies, hopefully you'll be feeling like the King of the World.

If you ask me, this whole thread is full of Pretzel Logic.

OH here we go!

Just got a call from my Landlord...he's gonna be out but he's leaving them leaning against the Garage for me...."There's a Purple one and a Red One" he says.

no doubt the Giant is the Purple one.

WNG 05-10-11 02:58 PM

:popcorn

nlerner 05-10-11 03:00 PM

I'm betting they're both MTBs. I had a nice Canyon Express I built up for someone as a single speed.

Zaphod...there's a Peugeot available inexpensively in Abington. I'd get it myself, but I'm Never Going Back to my Old School.

robtown 05-10-11 03:30 PM

DO NOT PANIC

Pour yourself a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster , grab your bar towel and go get those bikes!

Velognome 05-10-11 03:36 PM

...."There's a Purple one and a Red One" he says.

With 16" white tires!

JunkYardBike 05-10-11 03:51 PM

Wait, this is your former landlord? Are you sure you didn't leave some bikes behind when you moved out of your place?

Chombi 05-10-11 05:33 PM

ZB just texted me! The Peugeot's one of Phil Anderson's old team bikes!

Chombi:rolleyes:

Zaphod Beeblebrox 05-10-11 05:51 PM

nothing quite so special. The Giant is a hi-ten Ladies road bike and the Peugeot is Purple, lower end mens frame. Both are probably around 1980. Not really terribly interesting, not really even worth taking a picture...but they're in ok condition and would need minimal work to be rideable. Too bad I didn't have these for the Swap last weekend, would have been a quick 50 bux just as-is.

Still worth it though...like my papa always told me, "free's for me!"

Purple peugeot-rolls off the tongue. LOL

-holiday76 05-10-11 07:10 PM

what a let down. I suggest you light something on fire and take a pic to liven things up a bit.
