I'm after a road bike in trade for a Paul Chen Golden Oriole Katana Samurai sword. A $ 700.00 value in like new condition.

I'd definitely mount a sword on my bike. I don't know if they make frame mounts though.

But Paul's Chinese!! Now if his name is something like Hiroyuki Takase....or....Shintaro Akikuza,.....Kenji Obe......or.......Daijiro Akenobu....or.......Shokaku Mitsuyama....... then, his swords might sell for a bit more out there. Paul's gotta try out some new names or take in a new Japanese business partner?...

.........Just kidding, of course, lest Paul Chen hunts me down and cuts off my head in one swift swoosh of his Katana!

I have a Mameluke sword (a gift) and the proper Marine Staff NCO sword.
I try not to handle them, so I don't hurt myself. Learning sword drill was a major PITA.

Bikes: 79 Peugeot UO8, 89 Peugeot Triathlon, 170$ Possibly a Raliegh Cross bike that I can kick your ass on...

Now someone needs to build bike with the top tube being the barrel. You could get some aero bars and then put the trigger on the end.

The more you think about the the more awesome it becomes.

You could make it into a .22 and use this ammo.

I like the description "Powerful and silent, great for use in urban areas".

Top tube = barrel, bar end = trigger. Just put a crosshair on your bars.

You not by yourself!! When I was living in an apartment, and single, I would have the ninja and katana swords on stands. People would ask me do I study that stuff? I said, no, just that some people like to have flowers around, I like to have swords. Was trying to find one of those bow and arrows too..

However, the ones I have are the cheap imitations. Cost about $40..

The Mameluke is a replica of the sword given to Marine LT Pressley O'Bannon after the defeat of the Barbary Coast pirates near Tripoli. Marine officers wear the sword with dress blues/whites when ceremony and protocol dictates.
I was not a Marine officer, but one that was getting out gave me his sword.

The Marine staff NCO sword is plainer, and is only used for ceremonies and parades.
I was a staff NCO, and it was a PITA.

Drilling (marching, etc) with a sword is part of Marine officer and staff NCO training that is archaic and I've never figured out a use for. I suppose it looks good on the TV commercials, but doing it precisely takes a ton of practice time that I always thought was better used chasing fun.

I'm pretty sure the Army has a sword, I've heard that soldier's play with their swords a lot....

As far as a weapon, I'm not sure mine would cut butter, and it's very hard to run with.

You'd have to use a vintage bike, todays sloping top tubes are only good if you're hunting aircraft.

Bikes: blue ones.

Steel is real! I used to ride a Gazelle 3 speed with an epee strapped to the top tube back in my fencing days in high school. Never used int in anger though these days I only carry a swiss army knife for the pick-nick en route.
