Swap out the Bernard Hinault saddle for a Flite ti rail style saddle, add light weight alloy/ti skewers, swap out the wire bead tires for folding tires with thin butyl tubes and swap out the chainring and crank bolts with alloy ring bolts and ti crank bolts. Thats about 20 minutes worth of work and I have all of it on hand. I also have a set of modern ti axles but thats more work.

I see a couple tiny grease spots you need to clean up on that cassette.

Golly MiamiJim - that is a sharp looking bike!

(PS- If you trim any more weight off it you'll have to tie it down - maybe that's what the hole is for?)

I'm still not impressed.....you didn't go for the ultra weenie Stronglight C11 90% plastic (metal races and bearings) needle bearing headset! You're just halfway there with that "Bernard Hinault" plastic cup A9!
C'mon!

Nice. What are those pedals? Are the brakes modolo pros? My only quibble would be the deteriorating brown hoods.

Absolutely, nothing on my list is weaker or more fragile, just lighter.

I didnt build the bike so 'weight weenieness' wasnt a concern...but I knew one of you would 'badger' me about something.

Assos peda0sl...crazy light. I'm not sure about the Modolos, they say, "International Pat" on the levers and calipers and I'm on the look out for hoods!!!

Great looking bike miamjim! Very stealth. I thought I had the only weight-weenie of the day. Under 18, huh? Alright, I'll take that as a challenge...

The challenge is on!!! (I'm searching ebay as we speak) After my initial 'under 18 pound' comment I remembered a set of ultra-light tubular wheels I have, with the clunky NR skewer the front wheel weighs under 1000g with the tire. The Vitus front wheel (Mavic G40 rims) is 1360g which means swapping wheels sets alone will net me about 700 grams (1 lb 9 oz) and thats with NR skewers!! I now think I could get it mid 17's without sacrificing durabilty.

I was kind of counting on my tubulars. If you switch wheelsets I think I'm in trouble...

Bikes: Two wheeled ones

I really dig the parts group...and the strip tease presentation.
