Excellant! Your smoked chrome finish seems lighter than mine ... I wonder if there were different variations on how much the chrome was "smoked"?

I think a previous owner buffed off the "smoke" because it was scuffed up. I'd like to see a really smokey in person.

All ADs are great (of course), but there's nothing quite like smoked chrome. Keep those pictures coming!

Bikes: 1980 Austro Daimler SLE

Here's mine. This is the only picture I have at the moment, taken on Saturday at a ride in Minnesota. This is a 1980 model SLE which I bought new in the spring of 1981.

Hmm - I guess I have to go read up on how to post pictures. In the meantime, if you click it, it should show the larger version.

Just got this off craigslist the other day a 74 AD Inter 10 been a little low on funds so haven't gotten to change anything yet. Hoping to clean her up although not sure how to redo the hand painted symbols on the cheap. Anyone had an issue with getting a lugged front wheel in the fork of their AD?

I'm not sure that is a 74 Inter 10. First, there are no eyelets on the dropouts, and second, I don't think there were braze on TT cable guides on any 74's. I can't tell in the photo, but it looks purple. Check for Campy dropouts, but that looks like a late 70's Ultima to me.

Curious how you came up with the date.

The color looks about the same as my Inter-10....its a strange color, very cool, but IMHO doesn't photograph very accurately.
I don't know that there's enough consistency in the models to use the existence of Top Tube guides as an indicator for whether or not its an Inter-10

almost purple here

redder...

and in flat light its practically brown

I could be wrong on the date, i thought that's what it was but the inter 10 is barely visible on the top tube. And it's definitely like yours Zaph I thought it was brown till I got it in some different lighting. Is your back wheel quick release?
