84 Fuji Club
I found another bike last weekend some guy was clearing out his attic and sold me a 84 Fuji Club with only about 20 miles on it, this one still has the original tires and are still new looking! The bike as a whole looks brand new, and it fits me (that's the only ones I buy are ones that fit I'm not into buying and selling-no time for that). It only cost $100 which was a better deal then the Nishiki I got few weeks back.
The only problem is the glue that holds the seat cover underneath is coming slightly loose so I'll probably reglue it since the cover looks new. It still has the original yellow plastic bar tape too.
The only thing I don't like about it is the Suntour ARX derailleurs which were not the greatest even though they were suppose to be the same as Cyclone but redesigned for a feeble attempt at the aero look that Shimano was doing back then. And in that redesign effort the derailleur doesn't shift as fast as Cyclone, Sprint or Superbe. The rear derailleur looks like this along with info on this funky derailleur: https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/...284300%29.html But the driveline works great it's just not as fast or as positive as the Superbe stuff I have. But it's brand new so it should last awhile, I'll probably change to Cyclone if the ARX breaks because in 85 the Fuji Club had Cyclone on it.

Good score .. I never liked the ARX, not the performance, just that it looked incredibly cheap. I think the Cyclone would be a great upgrade.

+1 I have an ARX bike, they work fine, but they look cheap compared to Cyclones, particularly eary Cyclones. I also like the appearance of the BL derailleurs much better. But as to functionality, they work fine.

Nice bike, I had an 85 with Cyclone MkII. To small for me but the time I rode it it was a wonderful ride and the Cyclone MkII shifted nicely. Maybe look for MkII bits on eBay and snipe them cheap, replace the ARx as you get them.

I've already started looking on E-bay for the Cyclone stuff, and their cheap at around $30 to $40 for nice examples...and that's both front and rear derailleurs. New old stock was running around $179 for the set, but I have to watch that one to see if the seller will get that price.

$30-40 for a decent front/rear or even just rear Cyclone is Definitely worth it for the upgrade if you're looking to stay with what the bike came with, which I would if the bike is in immaculate condition. My ARX bike Sucks compared to the Cyclone I used to have, which also happens to be the bike khatfull was referring to that he polished up incredibly well. If yours is really in that good of condition, here's a few pics for inspiration of what khatfull did with his and you could do with yours. It's a beautiful bike and a great rider.

Great looking bike! I always try to keep my bikes as close as possible to the factory look and components...sometimes that's impossible. I like your red Silca Impero pump, I may try to find one, I know their still being made. I have a mint Impero I bought new in 84 with the Campy head but it's yellow and I'm not using it since it's mint. Yellow Jersey has them in various colors but they don't have the campy head just some cheap plastic things, but I heard the plastic oval head was better then the plastic round head with the two prongs. Then I would have to decide whether I want a contrasting yellow pump or do the red matching pump??
