Tell me what I missed
As I was browsing the bay, I caught a glimpse of this nice older English bike:

I already have too many projects, but I put up a low snipe just in case. It looks like it fired a little too early, an earlier bidder outbid me at the last second. I guess it's the fish that got away, I am curious what it was. It seems to be an English bike from '60's, and the Nervex Pro lugs and very nice workmanship point to a high end, perhaps custom bike. Any ideas?

Hard to tell from those auction photos. I don't think it's a Raleigh because of that fork braze-on for the lamp bracket. Is the gear shifter braze-on or clamp? At any rate, lots of builders used Nervex lugs, so that doesn't help narrow particularly.

I agree it's not a Raleigh. If you look at the dropout details and thinned lugs (in the enlarged listing pictures), it shows a higher level of craftsmanship than typical on a Raleigh or Carlton. For example, look at the rear fender holes. The derailleur cable mounting braze-ons are also not typical.
