I have a thing for the MB1's. This one is a 19" 1990 built as a commuter with a xo1 theme. Diacompe 986's, shimano 105 w/ ultegra bar end shifters, shimano 600 crank, Sakae Tall Cool One "Super Hard Anodized" seatpost, "Super Hard Anodized" Araya rm20's with xt front and xc9000 rear freehub, moustache bar with fabric tape and shellac. It now has modern pedals & fenders.

1990 MB-Zip
Picked up my first Zip a few weeks ago. 1990 survivor from west coast, looks like it was a race bike for a season or so. All original low mile drivetrain except for grip shift (barf) and a campy Miroz 26" front rim (kinda cool). 21" large frame light chain suck chipping and small gash/dent in Logic fork, looks cosmetic only (maybe when he trashed the front rim?) I already have a set of first gen xt thumbies yet to be mounted and a NOS set of ritchey MudMax folding tires and SPD pedals to finish the build. Sunny day singletrack gazelle is the idea for this bike, it will be ridden but lightly, the max weight for these guys was 175 lbs and I am 10 lbs north of that, but I won't be racing it!

1976 Supercycle Excalibur, made in Japan by Bridgestone for Canadian Tire Corp.
FYI, I've located Canadian Tire's 1976 description of your Supercycle
Excalibur bike:
"Excalibur is our best 10 speed and it's loaded with features. It's built
by Bridgestone and comes with their super lightweight Technart die-cast
frame. Wide ratio, multiple gearing gives everything from low-low to
extra-high for cross-country work. Shift levers are ratchet type for
positive selection. Reflectors all round. Black padded saddle. Lots of
features in good looks department, two chromed forktips and a beautiful,
pearlescent mariner blue finish. It's a SUPERCYCLE to compare with the
best. 71-1085X - Men's 21" or 23" frame; 27" wheels.".

@browngw, that bike looks like it's never seen a road. Did you find it in a time capsule?

Although neglected for nearly 40 years, it had been stored inside. It had some broken bits, stem, pedals and saddle and some rusty parts.
I spent many, many hours detailing, paint touch-up and finding the accessories to make it look like I wanted. I'm sure I have about $150 invested in this bike but it is a favorite and was given to me by a friend. I really like the way it turned out. The inspiration was "clubman" and "Rivendell"
Some as received shots:

Just picked up an 89 RB-1, came with upgraded wheels and a lightly used shimano 600 groupset. I'll probably change out the stem and handlebars (nitto most likely) to something more comfortable to me. Wanted a vintage road bike and couldnt pass on this one, it was also made the year I was born which is cool.

Just took delivery of my 4th Bridgestone on Tuesday. 1988 55cm MB-1. The serial number says 88 but it's got the 89 build.

Sweet, clean, stock Zip!

Last December I picked up an RB-1. It has parts from late '90 and even a serial number from '90, but it looks like a '91 model. I can fit 28's on it, no problem, so it is now my favorite go-to gravel grinder.
I have fallen in love with bar-end shifters. These are 7-speed
I was racking my brain for weeks... months... trying to figure out how to "get more gears" out of the bike. Then I hit upon St. Sheldon's "half-step gearing" page and, voila!! I now have 14 completely distinct and usable gears - more than most 2x10 bikes get these days. 44/40 x 13-30.
Yes, a 7s Tricolor RD can hit a 30t cog - especially in a half-step setup. I didn't even need to use a longer B-screw. The MTB uniglide cassette came from the Box O' Crap at just the right time to complete the setup.
Seat cluster needs some TLC, but I think I have some touch-up paint to fix that.

The cool thing about a Bridgestone frame is that you can build it up any way you damn please 'cuz that's the way Grant Peterson did it ('cept don't replace the fork with carbon fiber - it might explode).

New to me, second Bridgestone bike in 20 years, an 88 RB-1. No fancy bits (Campy triple, later issue Sakae seatpost, balance pretty much original 105) and frame needs a lot of touch up but rides well.

Not sure about the fork... I'm not crazy about the yellow tape, for me the blue RB-1s look best with white. The X-Eras black bars I'd like to swap for silver, then swap a bunch of 7400 series stuff (have beautiful 7403/7402 brake set on hand).

The saddle to bar drop looks pretty steep for mustache bars though. I read and personally prefer them about level. How does it ride?

However, since this is a Bridgestone thread I'll show this pic of the '94 RB-T I bought myself as a retirement present. I've since swapped saddles and gone to clipless pedals, Continental Gatorskin 32C tires and rear rack. I also resurrected my ancient blue Eclipse Pro handlebar bag for use on it. Fenders and front lowriders yet to come. It's my first and only (so far) Bridgestone and I thought my acquiring days were over but always wanted one of these and it popped up on CL for $200. I did not argue price with the guy.
