Help Identify this old red bike?
Just curious if anyone can educate me on what this might be under all that red paint. Even info on the decade would help. Interestingly, the serial on the bottom bracket is all letters.
I'm in Canada, btw. I don't think it is a CCM or Canadian made Raleigh.
Any thoughts or theories?
Thanks.

Well, it is not a Raleigh, but close, and could be a Raleigh clone.
Nice loop frame, coaster brake I assume. The wheels are 28" and someone has stripped all the rod-brake gear and converted it.

That kink in the frame at the head tube resembles the one on my wife's roadster. Similar crankset too.

It's an Eatons Wing Commander of unknown date. Originally it had a Perry hub and no other obvious marks to indicate when it was made. I'm guessing late 40's?
but
Yours also appears to have a Raleigh stem...see a faint Raleigh logo on surface?
Your fenders are also very "Sir Walter-esque"
A pic of the adjustable BB cup would maybe identify it as a Raleigh if it has the tell-tale wrench flats.

I'm not aware of Raleigh ever using a serial system without numbers. This one is all letters. Also, the wheels are 26" and yes it has a coaster brake.
You must have very good eyes. I don't see the faint raleigh logo on the stem.
