I have about 25 neices and nephews. I've bought each of their families at least one, if not two Kool-Aid pitchers and sets of cups over the years.

Kool Aid is cool, but it's nigh impossible to get out of carpet. So I drink it in the kitchen.

Reminds me of one summer when I was a young lad. Cousins Diane and Susan drank WAY too much Kool-Aid by the pool one day. Hi-jinks ensued, and soon enough it was like a twin red Vesuvius spectacle for all to enjoy in the bright summer sun. Quickly followed by hot dogs, corn, and other summer fare.

It's never a good idea to run around the pool, but especially not if the decks are slick.

Hey Kurt- you know that supposed degradation in the quality of this forum you like to ***** about?

You're part of it now. If you want high quality discussion, start high quality discussion, sheesh.

Satire is never out of season.

Good parts to finish (and post photos of) my builds are harder to come by.

I agree with the Colonel, except that the sub forum should be placed under FOO or TROLLHEIM!

I have to admit, I don't get any of this. I gather that Grant Peterson and Rivendell Bicycles are polarizing for some reason, but I don't see why. And if someone tells me it's the ad copy, well, all the modern bicycle marketing is kind of New Age-y to me.

The way this thread keeps hanging around is really quite a bore.

Neither do I, but the fact of the matter is that GP/Riv is one of those subjects that pushes people's buttons. I told him once about the BF rant machine that starts up over him and Rivendell. I told him that the posts to go back and forth between "Grant Petersen is a genius" and "Grant Petersen is an idiot." He gave a small smile and said that he was fairly sure he wasn't either.

Ah. I think. Funny, but I thought the prevailing attitude around BF was "riding any bike is better than not riding at all". Frankly, I think we should be happy anyone is willing to spend big bucks on bikes these days, regardless of the source.
