Kool Aid is cool, but it's nigh impossible to get out of carpet. So I drink it in the kitchen.

It's never a good idea to run around the pool, but especially not if the decks are slick.

I have to admit, I don't get any of this. I gather that Grant Peterson and Rivendell Bicycles are polarizing for some reason, but I don't see why. And if someone tells me it's the ad copy, well, all the modern bicycle marketing is kind of New Age-y to me.

Neither do I, but the fact of the matter is that GP/Riv is one of those subjects that pushes people's buttons. I told him once about the BF rant machine that starts up over him and Rivendell. I told him that the posts to go back and forth between "Grant Petersen is a genius" and "Grant Petersen is an idiot." He gave a small smile and said that he was fairly sure he wasn't either.

Ah. I think. Funny, but I thought the prevailing attitude around BF was "riding any bike is better than not riding at all". Frankly, I think we should be happy anyone is willing to spend big bucks on bikes these days, regardless of the source.
