Found this for $10 on the way home from the dentist. Listening to the Cure on the low-end of the dial.

Reaching out to local farmers who are doing things right. These pigs are happy.

My Nephew (14 years old) scored a 1987 Centurion Dave Scott Ironman today. I spied it at the LBS, a dust covered trade-in. Got it for $60.00 ~
(That's my almost NOS identical size Ironman in the background of the one image.. So we have one to look at during the rebuild.)
The frame is now stripped-down and Chris is going to polish everything. He's at home right now using fine rubbing compound and wax.. Then we will clean and grease every bearing, adjust everything, put all new cables, tires and tubes, final-adjust everything in the drive-train, and new bar wrap. It won't take long and it will be up and running like new. The goofy aero-bars are being substituted for some standard drop bars.
I've got everything we need for the rebuild, I'm teaching him some basic bike mechanics, understanding of vintage quality, reusing old stuff, appreciation of well made things, project patience, the usual.. He's de-tassling corn this summer so this is a weekend and evening project, but he's been working twelve hour days so probably next weekend we'll get at it again..
It's funny, today on the 40 mile drive home from the LBS, he was asking about the cateye 'puter on the bike (it works!) and I said it was worth what we paid for the whole bike. He commented on how he paid less than a Walmart China bike and he got something ten times better made. I said: "Maybe 20 times better made Christopher"
He's a happy camper today,
Everything came apart perfect, no seizure on the seat post or steering stem. home run so far! A tiny little bit of "sweat drop rust" on the top tube center cable guide, no dents or damage on the frame, the wheels run perfect true, the steering bearings are great with no brinelling, all the grease is caked like expected, the gum-wall tires are dry as dust.

Thanks Brent. Don't encourage me, my wife would say.
On my ride in Little Compton Sat, I had to stop and enjoy the local old cemetery.
Check out the hairdos on these angels of death:
primitive style
I really love these 3/4 view facing ones.
The artist's inspiration?
