Not exactly recent.
First batch, taken on a 5 day trip along the Devil's Path in the Catskills a few years back (the doorway pictured is the entrance to the Overlook Mountain House): http://i.imgur.com/8DLgUnK.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/DCDh732.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/gHWrdYT.jpg?4 http://i.imgur.com/LG4mUG8.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/sNDuey4.jpg?1 ...and, Mt. Washington (done on foot, happened to be the same day as the hillclimb - an unexpected surprise :) ): http://i.imgur.com/q4LRcWx.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/AsNN8jT.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/J4qP96h.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/0MPzUUM.jpg?1 No pics from the top that day - the weather wouldn't have it. The boulder field and above was washed in clouds. (I spent a good amount of time formatting and changing picture size in 'advanced mode' to get a nice layout. The lovely final result did not translate to this full view, so this is what you get... Hold the Ctrl key and tap the - (minus)key to zoom out and experience my oh so nifty handywork. Ctrl and + will get you back to 100% zoom) |

Nice Mt. Washington pictures Sir_Name, I was on the summit that day. My son did the climb, pretty chilly for August. Here's a shot of my grandson checking out my current project. I think he approves.

Thanks, otg. How painful did your son find the climb? I thought there were more cyclists on the road than usual on the way to Pinkham notch that morning.
531 Trek in blue, eh? Enjoy the project - looks lovely. Nice way to spread yuletide cheer, northbend. Great pic. |
OTG, your grandson looks just like you.

Very nice bike, Grady. How many Chris Kvale frames have you had now? I spotted one for sale in my size last year, but I didn't have the scratch for it.
BTW, I thought you were a Swift/Regal guy?.. Thanks! I need to knock it off with the CKs. I have three riders atm and a frameset that I wish I could find a suitable owner for someday. However, Chris K. won't build forever and I really enjoy the way his framesets ride for me. As they say, it's in the tubes. :) Maybe a little like you enjoy your beautiful Stan Johnsons? As for the Swallow, I keep trying these once in a while. Swifts and Regals are simple choices for me, as they are like an old pair of Zamberlan boots I have. They just fit. |

I've logged a little over 6,000 miles this year, and My two SJs have accounted for 2/3 of that. Not particularly light, but just fit good, probably like yer boots.

Nope, just Grass Pants. Short but nasty dirt road climb up to one of the local cell towers. A couple of sections over 20% near the top. Nice view though......
I'm hoping for some good climbs/photos at the top when I'm in AZ here in a couple weeks. DD |
