Wednesday evening's commute along the Hudson River. I'm on Manhattan Island, and that's New Jersey on the right.

I've been all over the country, but never New Yawk City. Despite all the trouble that seems to emanate from that island, it still looks good at sunset. Nice shot.

Funny, I've thought for years that one of these days, I've got to see Minnesota. Maybe we should house swap for a week. We have a house up the Hudson River where the NYC reservoirs are, in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains.

I give a killer bicycle tour of NYC, and you're welcome to take it when you tell us you're on your way.

Spring marches up the face of the Blue Ridge

Snapped with e cell phone. It didn't capture the near fluorescent green as seen with the naked eye. Beautiful day here in Virginia.

On my screen, your Blue Ridge looks more like Purple Mountains Majesty. Either way, a nice, colorful place to go for a ride.

...as-it-ev-er-was

These Russian cargo planes are pretty cool - 2nd largest in the world and not that many of them around. The fact that we've had a steady stream lately bodes well for American manufacturing. Spirit AeroSystems here makes fuselage parts for Airbus, and these cargo planes once loaded are heading to France. The pictures don't do justice to their size.

i guess so. I've never thought about it, which is maybe a testament to how effortless it is. I will say that with that big load which does obstruct some of my view that I keep a close eye on trenches next to the road if its a tight fit. I wouldnt want to get the front wheel in there while going 30mph down some hill, which I do on occasion.

Anyhow, if you ever get the chance to take a Longjohn/Bakfiets for a ride, do it. They're a blast. Especially electric ones!

Here is my wife on our ride we took around Ulster County, NY on Sunday. We went to a concert, grocery shopping, and then another concert. The body of water is the Rondout Creek.

Since the theme seems to be gloomy weather, I think I am going to call this genre "Velo Noir". Here is the fugitive Great Scott, pinned against the wall by a bright light in the darkness. Somebody cue the orchestra, we need some dramatic crescendo:

Velo Noir! Great idea @DQRider

Any moment now two goons with Allen wrenches concealed in shoulder holsters are going to burst through those black doors and part out that poor bike.

The hungry tigress slinks into a pool of light afforded by a break in the dense jungle canopy. The bicycle stands abandoned nearby, but she also senses the nearby presence of the prey she has been stalking, the lone cyclist.
