I've had this crusty '78 Jack Taylor hanging from the rafters in my shop waiting for some love for 2.5 years now. Last night i decided it was time to build it up to make sure I like the ride.

The past 2-3 years I've been pretty much primarily riding modern bikes (mainly this https://flic.kr/p/Z7gBJK , this https://flic.kr/p/YmuEkQ , and this https://flic.kr/p/XonNrV ).

So anyway, I built this up and took it for 20 today. 10 road 10 gravel.

Nice pictures of a nice bike. I don’t recall seeing barcons and aero routing of shift cables. How’s that working out?

works great. I usually do that on bikes that have a front bag/rack to keep them out of the way.

Nice pictures Holiday76.
What kind of beans are they that you're snacking on? You have us stumped here.

Those are dried peas, covered in wasabi paste.

I took the day off and my sweetie and I took the canoe out on the Concord River and walked through parts of Great Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary.

I picked some Tuscan kale, cherry tomatoes and mildly spicy Sicilian peppers from the garden at my mother's house while on the commute home yesterday. I maintain the garden find it to be so peaceful, relaxing and beneficial to grow our own veggies and above all it is delicious.

A throwback to old NYC, the emergency call box, which is still common in some neighborhoods.

Took this picture on a recent ride near my home. This cement mixer drum has been there over close to 55 years, the mixer turned off the highway at a blind intersection and ran right into the township road grader that was grading the gravel road. I remember the accident because the driver's daughter was in my class in grade school and the towing company that pulled the rest of his truck in was across the street from our house. In fact it was also next door to the concrete plant the truck was from. The cement truck driver survived but had several fractured vertebrae and had to wear a neck and back brace for several months. The road grader operator wasn't hurt but the grader was heavily damaged also. The drum was full of concrete that set up by the time they got the driver cut out of the wreckage and it was decided to leave it there due to the expense of bringing in a crane big enough to move it. About 25 years ago it was almost completely buried but heavy rains in recent years have uncovered it.
