Since the theme seems to be gloomy weather, I think I am going to call this genre "Velo Noir". Here is the fugitive Great Scott, pinned against the wall by a bright light in the darkness. Somebody cue the orchestra, we need some dramatic crescendo:

How about, it was illuminated by a lightning bolt. ;)

Helios enjoying the box. It was intended for ebay stuff. My spouse said I couldn't sell him on ebay though.

This is Mercury, he is new to the family. He is still a kitty and is some times referred to as Kitty Mercs. Both are known for their speed and ferocious tenacity.

This is Athena. She doesn't like Kitty Mercs. She is upset I haven't sold him on ebay.

This is Helios, he is the king of the yard and house. I usually refer to him as "El Marmalado Grande"

Nice. Lots of history in that frame - and your Pug is a very classy ride. :thumb:

Here are a couple from my ride this morning - through Crosby Farm across the Mississippi from Fort Snelling:

One of the rest stations for the 50km/100km Rose Hill Rally 2016 charity ride. I rode my fat arse around 33.1 miles, and I'm paying for it now. I did get a t-shirt, though, which is nice.

Had a wonderful ride on my French Bike today. Crossed the new Lafayette Bridge into Lowertown, Saint Paul:

Out of Saint Paul, around Lake Phalen, and then out on the beautiful Gateway Trail...

...some portions of which are now in black & white:

http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/...psi3vfnjjm.png

And did some unexpected train spotting on the way home:

This is the console for the Wurlitzer theater pipe organ that accompanied 'Girl Shy', a 1924 silent movie shown at the Hanover Theater in Worcester. The Hanover theater has the biggest (I think) theater pipe organ in New England. I can get you all the details you might want as the organ was donated by one of my Father's good friends. These are great shows for those in the Worcester region and beyond.

Ed. there is a theater like that in Jersey City, NJ. We went to an event there, a couple of movies accompanied by organ. It was huge fun.

Hi Tom -- I believe this is what you are referring to?

Yes, and it's worth a visit when they hold one of those events.

Great photos and gorgeous bikes! I am building up my first upright townie conversion now and I hope it turns out half as nice as yours. We will be heading to St. Paul/Minneapolis this late spring/early summer to visit friends and family. I can't wait to ride out there.

Thanks very much for the compliment! For the best result, I can offer the following advice: Be clear about the design, make sure you know exactly what you want before you start building. Then, don't compromise on any of the design elements just because something else is cheaper or more readily available. It is much better to save up and/or search for the parts you really want than to buy something you are just going to replace later on.

Be sure to let us know when you get out here - there are many of us locals here on the forums. Maybe we can arrange a guided tour.

Spring mornings are better when I ride my go-slow-and-enjoy-the-moment bike into work.

My girlfriend and I took our roadies out for a 50km spin this afternoon... missed the rain that fell in town but had a good ride.

enough of this rain! It is making things nice though.

Garden for a local restaurant down the street from my house. That's the Delaware River in the backround. Washington crossed it a few miles north to defeat the British at Trenton.

To me, that is only a pair of mudguards and a chainguard short of the Perfect Bicycle. Of course, if it's your sunny day cruiser, and you're wearing shorts, I guess they wouldn't be needed.

Perfect! :thumb:

Mudgards would require going down a tire size or two (35mm's on there now just barely fit.)

More importantly, if this had mudguards it would be hard to justify having another messy-day commuting bike built up fairly similarly (the Trek 620 commuter w/ mudguards, basket, rack and albatross bars is almost done.)
