They aren't the same ones. I replaced them with another pair exactly them.

Cursed - or charmed?

Last summer (July 15th, to be exact) I lost this pair of Ray-Bans while on a local hike to Eagle Lake. I retraced my steps and after a couple hours found them on the same day.

I then lost them again on March 5th of this year on a hike to Evergreen Mountain Lookout. Yesterday during our most recent hike back up again I turned to him to make a comment on something et voila:

I found them again - completely by accident.

This sounds like my life. I have to set things in the same place or lose glasses and my wallet all the time.

I finally eliminated one issue, I got a new phone and it has the flip case with credit card and ID holder. I no longer carry a wallet and stick my phone in my back pocket most of the time.

On a side note, my wife set some glasses down on a long hike to some Hohokam ruins that are not often visited about a year ago, off the trail a little. I'm expecting they may still be there when we go again. The ruins made it a 1000 years, glasses should be fine. :-)

A little ride down by the river last night, on my favorite steed:

http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/...psiks73xm2.png

Most of the vegetation is still dormant from our long winter, but it makes for some nice contrast. I saw little green shoots starting to sprout on the forest floor. Soon the trees and bushes will begin to bud.

These are things you don't see when you are in a paceline or going for a personal best. Give me a slow ride, every time...

Over the last six days I rode 200 miles. Tonight, the 7th day, was a day of rest.

Friday I did a "group" ride that turned out to be just me and one other rider. I got 37 miles on my trusty 2-speed
https://dgtzuqphqg23d.cloudfront.net...-2047x1152.jpg

Saturday was my longest ride of the week; I rode my age (54 miles) on a breakfast ride plus bonus miles.
https://dgtzuqphqg23d.cloudfront.net...-2048x1152.jpg

Sunday was a group ride; got 30 miles in.
https://dgtzuqphqg23d.cloudfront.net...-2048x1152.jpg

Monday I did only 15 miles.
https://dgtzuqphqg23d.cloudfront.net...-2048x1152.jpg

Tuesday I rode 24 miles.
https://dgtzuqphqg23d.cloudfront.net...-2048x1152.jpg

Last night I did 40 on a group ride which included several Personal Records on Strava segments. I hung near the front of the pack for most of the ride and seemed better able to hang in front as the ride went on.

You have great taste in bikes. I really like that first one, your 2-speed... is that one of those "kick-back" hubs?

Scored a National Team GT to match my Saturn Team GT. Both frames are fillet brazed Reynolds 853.

Same river, different spot, on a different mount. I rode my French Bike, "Gypsy Bleu", down to the MRT last night. The weather is gorgeous here now, and the bugs are already out. I rode through several clouds of gnats down along the riverbank. After the first one, I learned to keep my mouth shut. You don't see them until you feel them; I hate when that happens.

The Golden Hour - Just before sunset.

I love the play of shadows in this one, and the way those light globes march off diagonally into the distance.

Friday, I picked a bunch of car crap from my wife's totally wrecked car and rode along the Harlem River path between Manhattan and the Bronx.

A view across the Passaic Valley from the backside of the Palisades towards the Watchung Mountains in New Jersey.

The stuff in the valley are the NYC 'burbs.

From the long-ago days, a few days after the infamous blizzard of '78

One of very few to make it in to the office.

On another project, and I broke out the slide projector and a bunch of slides to look through - didn't know I'd find this.

Sorry to hear about that. Is Carol okay?

Thank you, David and everyone else who asked. She's fine, not injured at all. The day after the accident, the shock set in a bit, but she was able to go about her entire work day as normal.

Bikerider007, where are you? We have some spectacular scenery here but it's not complete. First of all, traffic is unimaginably insane. Noise is everywhere, even where the scenery looks bucolic. And we really don't have bucolic anyway. But it is fun.

noglider Peoria Az, a suburb NW of Phoenix. It does look like a very fun place to ride! Have not been that far east in some time but will let you know when I do. Same here, if you are ever out this way...

Tuesday night at the LBS. They are well-stocked up on kids' bikes right now. Overflow goes out back during business hours. I stopped by just to chat and see what's new.

If you put your location in your profile, I'll make you lunch and give you a cycling tour of NYC next time you're here. :)

I see some people ride these (long cargo bikes) in my neighborhood. They are having MUCH less trouble than I would expect. I think they are much more agile than they look.

Went riding on the plains yesterday, hopefully that little bit of snow you see is the last that falls here until November.
