Greetings from the "warm" and "rainy" Pacific Northwest. Up at my place in the foothills above town, there has been snow on the ground for over a month. We very briefly recorded our first temps above freezing for 2017 a few days ago and then it's back down to 21 fahrenheit last night.

Pic is last night's moon coming up over my cave. I have to walk the last quarter mile home, because my wife commandeers my Subaru whenever there's snow on the ground and the driveway is too steep and slippery for her car, which I'm stuck with. This is usually only a problem a few days out of the year for me.

It's been more than a month. :(

Thank you! It feels nice too. I just got in from a 14 mile ride on it this evening. Snapped a few pics while I was out again tonight too

Getting organized.

Slow day at work, so I'm re-organizing my storeroom at work to -- what else? Make better storage for bikes!

Eight new hooks hanging down from the central beam which is a convenient 7 feet from the floor at that part of the room. Don't tell the owners, but I'm hogging up almost 150 of the ~700 sq ft for actual business-related stuff. The rest is a massive disarray of bikes and bike parts. :)

Put some chrome on the chainstay and fork crown and that would look just like my A-D. I like it!

I'm not sure if this counts as an "everyday pic", but it came from a recent visit to the workshop....

I was cleaning up a bike that I had bought used. Specifically, I was cleaning up the derailleur pulleys. It was a Campy Super Record derailleur, and I assumed the pulleys were the standard type with sleeve bushings. Well, I was surprised to find that the Campy pulleys had ball bearings!

It turns out that these are from the Campagnolo C Record group, which I didn't have any experience with. Here's a shot of the disassembled pulley...

if anyone is wondering, the bearings are 1/8". I guess that's one more thing that I need to add to my parts stash.

Overall, the pulleys are pretty cool! Not hard to clean and adjust, and the grease was in good shape despite a number of years without any maintenance.

Well, thanks @noglider. Unfortunately, winter has seriously curtailed my riding and photography. I mean, I did manage this:

But I'm not going to subject this bike to the road brine anymore.

Instead, I'm building a winter bike now and should have that on the road as soon as my studded front tire and fenders arrive. It won't be as beautiful as my other bikes, but it will be purposeful; and some can see the beauty in that. Now I have to figure out how to photograph in a landscape I've always found ugly and forbidding...

Well, I Couldn't Wait...
 

Yes, Fred Thomas picked up the A-D brand a few years ago, that's my wool A-D jersey I sold him in the photo. He now owns my Ultima Superliecht. Figured it needed to go back home after all these years.

Hi - I'm curious where you found the stone marker. I've been researching the Dows family and 1905 is the year Tracy Dows and his wife Alice began work on Fox Hollow, their estate in Rhinebeck. It's pretty cool that you spotted it.

Hey! Had the exact same bike, that I also converted to a single speed cruiser. Cool bikes, yours is better looking than mine was.

I'm curious as to why you included the small yet non-essential rooms in your layout? Given the fact that there's so much work to be done and admiration to be bestowed on one's bike collection, who has time to eat or sleep?

And as for the bathroom, why not buy a tri-bike instead? I hear tell, those guys do all their nature breaks while riding...:thumb:
