I looked up after mounting my new wall racks and saw this. I thought it looked cool so I'm sharing:

Boa. This is the biggest one I've seen in these parts. When we lived in southern Belize, at the edge of the rainforest, I saw one (also dead) that was easily 4 meters long and as big around as my thigh. Unreal.

It's snowy and cold so I ride the old Nishiki on the indoor trainer while the rest hang on the wall in the shop.
In the meantime I'm working on refinishing 50 yr old wheel covers for my 65 Ford Falcon Over an hour of masking: http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/SAM_0364.jpg Couple of coats of primer: http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/SAM_0366.jpg Two coats of paint - freshened up paint on the left, faded, dirty and scraped on on the right. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...m/SAM_0370.jpg Still need to figure out the best way to tackle the raised letter "center cap" |

One of the benefits of being around this group for almost 9 yrs now is appreciating the originality of many of the bikes posted here. I ride them because they're comfortable and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
So, while the frigid winter continues here and I ride my Nishiki Marina 12 on the indoor trainer, I was able to complete my other vintage project for my 65 Falcon - rehabbing some wheel covers to go with a more original look from 1965. I like it. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/SAM_0377.jpg |
Agreed, very nice!

A few off-topic shots from CX Nationals yesterday.
Elle Anderson taking the lead toward the beginning of lap 1 of the Elite Women's race. She passed a good chunk of the field here and stuck toward the front the rest of the race. I was surprised to see this name revived. Paint (on the red one at least) by Joe Bell, I wonder who built it.
