Made here in the Bluegrass State even! :thumb:

I'm amazed and pleased they still exist! I hope the renewed interest in urban cycling leads to increased sales.

Grasshopper? Locust?

JJ, is that white car in the 2nd photo an old Valiant? That sure does look like a 60's vintage Mopar door handle.

JJScaliger 12-01-11 06:51 PM

Good eye! It is indeed a 1965 Valiant. A Dodge Vegomatic (ok Chrysler) of Jonathan Richman fame. It came furnished in the driveway of the house I rent from my dad. Hasn't moved in 2 years. It is not popular with my wife and mom.

Today I installed my first headset! I used the homemade threaded rod/fender washer/flanged bolt trick and everything worked great. I used a simple tool I bought for $10 on eBay to seat the fork crown race, which also worked well. It's just a machined piece of aluminum and a PVC pipe.

The headset is the first Campy bit I've ever had on a bike; soon it will be joined by a seat binder bolt. I can't wait 'till the bike is finished and I can start riding it. Just waiting for the bottom bracket, seat binder bolt, and cable crimps. This will be the first bike I've built up totally from the frame up.

bacon wrapped vegetables....

it should balence out somewhere, +1 for the vegetables, -1 for bacon, but bacon tastes so goood....so that brings you back to even.....

i have the same plates at my house...

abarth 12-01-11 11:59 PM

It was top with a saute onion, garlic, sweet vinegar sauce. The sauce is +1. The final score is +1, so it is good for you.

That's a C&V plate, that I stole from my mom.

gaucho777 12-02-11 12:29 AM

^Your math is all wrong. +1 veggies, +1 sauce, +1 bacon = +3.

Warning: DO NOT SCROLL THROUGH THE PICTURES IN THIS THREAD ON THIS PAGE TOO QUICKLY!

I running a re-gen/update on a huge CAD file and browsing the site while waiting for the computer to catch up, and I was quickly skimming down this page, saw the locust/grasshopper flash past, then saw the bacon wrapped greenbeans flash past, then I burped and thought "what?". Had to go back up the page and make sure someone didn't bacon-wrap the grasshopper for dinner.

I need to go take a walk now and refresh my mind.

WNG 12-02-11 10:46 AM

Bacon wrapped grasshopper....Mmmmm, drool!

;)

I can buy another vintage bike for the price difference. ;) No offense, the VO stuff looks nice. If ya got the dough, knock yerself out.

Nothing better than a porteur rack to get your dog to work. I should be hung for posting pics of this belt-driven, hydraulic-braked, decidedly anti-vintage bike here, but I already am. And very well, thank you. :)

Today's photo trip - the stadiums:

We're planning on tailgating some Phillies games with this next year...it's the right color. We'll put a couple six packs in the basket, add some streamers, wear some Ruiz jerseys and enjoy watching another year of broken dreams.

Fantastic!

More fun than we had. Slush, ice, cold, and a flat tire.

On the bright side, no snow yet.

Hey, Chooch is my favorite and I can carry my share of beer and hoagies. Do you need a third? The Phillies just need to do their share and live up to expectations.

Were the pictures taken at sunrise or sunset? The lighting looks great!

You'd be welcome! We'll have to pick a game...

We took them close to sunset. They're good, but not as good as this:

I'll transport my mixed pitbull, rottweiler, doberman, coon dog puppy in my burlap-lined Kentucky-made Wald front basket just fine, thank you very much. He's there to protect my bottle of Knob Creek..

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=229384 I found this 1977Fuji Grand Tourer in a friends' back yard. Needs new painnt and overhaul come the spring, I found this as a frame only

noglider 12-04-11 06:46 AM

Aaron, nice picture, but the renaming (pimping) of stadia makes me sad. It's not a good trend, in my view.

Tom - you want sad? We have a Kraft Mac n' Cheese advertisement in Love Park to help funding...now that's sad. I miss the days when it could just be a stadium too.

At least I've got Wrigley field.
Right near the Twisted Spoke.
Bloody Mary, served with salami and cheese.
No goats, please

Owner's paying for their own field...what a concept.
