this is a shadow of our chimney through the skylight in my kitchen. I told our 2 and 3 year olds that it was an angry robot coming to get them. They cried a lot after that.

Here are some of the better Lake Superior Agates that I have found. A good amount have been found on bike rides.

Thankyou Conan and Highgear, there's more to come soon in the appropriate thread. This was a test pic. I have a new dslr and learning to use software to retain high quality pic's but since learned I can do better. :D

Haha! I see the Robot... but my first impression was a ninja. What good are kids if you can't scare the daylights out of them?

I like this photo, it's the sort of scene you see every day, but rarely give it any thought (much less stop to take a photograph.) The kid's cute too of course...

Yeah, I agree. To me, those look comparable with a point and shoot. I have an older ipod touch and was pretty surprised at how bad that camera is. It seems like the days of having phones, cameras and music as separate devices won't be here much longer. I suppose there will always be separate gear for professionals.

Yeah, well my route today was pretty stinky in general... even literally. The route follows right next to a highway, rolls through some tough areas of town, past the smelliest sewage plant, a juvenile detention center and the strip mines. The ends of the ride are sweet though.... ice cream and deli at one end, great smelling bread factory at the other.

I really don't carry my point & shoot much anymore. I prefer the field of view more in the phone cam, enough to give up a few settings options. I do look at higher end photo equipment sometimes but bikes tend to eat all my extra cash.
