I got close to these guys, almost close enough to touch. It was definitely unnerving.

Reptile du jour - a green basilisk. This one was apparently sleeping on the path and I was able to get right up to it for a photo session. He was about 18" in length.

An old carbon steel chef's knife - easy to get a razor sharp edge on this blade, and it's cut me more often than any other knife in the kitchen. Handle is stamped "Florida Grinding Co. Loaned, never sold" (except at the garage sale where I found it...) Don't tell the Florida Grinding guys I have it, I'm pretty sure they're not people I'd want to mess with...

Drivetrain on my Ron Cooper... the newly fitted NR looks as good as it runs with that Regina 13-21 and Sugino 42/54 and am loving the new Michelins. Makes for a smooth running, nearly silent running bike where the only thing you hear is the hum of the tyres. It is not quite as refined as the Suntour Cyclone it replaced but with that close range block the NR shifts like butter. |

Kept hearing a noise yesterday while continuing the frustration on my current project. Thought it was one of the kids walking on the gravel and then finally figured out what it was - 20 ft from the shop door were these two guys.

Gold orb spider in the front yard. They look scary, but they rarely bite.

I work out in the swamps, and I see them pretty regularly... I know they are fairly safe, but I had one on my hat, and didnt know it until I saw the legs start coming over the bill right in front of my face.

I just got back from vacation.... had some awesome family bicycle pictures that I was excited to share... but we lost the camera. We rode our bikes and picnicked at a park on the bay, on my Hudson Bay blanket... seemed appropriate.

My drunk beater. Love to ride this after a few brews. Feels good to spin the single speed.
