Put a 26" mnt bike wheel on my old Schwinn Super Sport SS, my front wheel was busted. This one works just fine, except no front brake.

:wtf: I just can't make this work in my brain!

Conan 03-28-13 10:54 AM

^Haha, the front tire just clears the fork by literally a hairs width. Had to take the pads off. The rear brake works well enough and if i have to i can put my feet down flintstones style,ha.

Kobe 03-28-13 11:13 AM

Is this a temporary thing or the long term solution. If so, I would say the front brake( the one that does most of the stopping) is not working so well and make sure you have some well soled shoes on.

Robofunc 03-28-13 11:13 AM

That's pretty dangerous. Replacing the wheel is less expensive than breaking your body--it's a good investment :)

Gravity Aided 03-28-13 07:01 PM

Or maybe the tire, which looks a bit more deep walled than the back tire.

It's almost a complete Vitus 979. Just waiting for pedals and decals. (Then I'll show you the rest.)

^ girlie pics in the spokes? rock band circulars? bible verses maybe? or just random trash from those strong southwestern winds?

Doohickie 03-29-13 02:40 PM

Spoke cards. The ones in the front wheel are from events I went to that had a lot of cyclists and they gave out spoke cards. The ones in the back wheel were taken by a local photographer and laminated. The one at the bottom of my rear wheel is the same picture as my avatar photo.

I am guessing the Cannondale is one of your kids bikes. It looks tiny compared to your beast.

Coconut crab - one of six we discovered the other night purely by accident. This one was about 16" across at the legs, but we found another that had a 24" leg span:

This is a relatively young crab - the hue seems sorta Molteni orange :)

That's amazing! Also a good reason not to ride at night without lights :) I wonder if they swarm during mating season like our land crabs in Florida do?

Creepy book ends spotted at an antique shop, I think they might have been some kind of monkey/platypus/porpoise hybrid, or possibly sleestak:

If Darth Vader had been a giraffe, he may have looked like this.

All the bikes you see in this pic are from last night's pub crawl ride. we crossed the bridge, then looped around down to the trail.

Morning drive commute to work.
Taking in a bike to work with me to either sell it, or if none of the people who inquired about it reply by lunch then it will go to a local thrift shop.
Gitane 10-speed w/cottered cranks & 27" steel wheels and a few issues, me driving the car, tailgator on my bumper as is typical around here.

Thanks for the picture of your daughter! Made me smile.

This picture is not meant to be aesthetic or interesting, but the process might interest y'all. I'm taking pictures of potholes and other road defects. My phone embeds geolocation into pictures automatically, so I can publish these on a web page and submit it to my local DPW. I don't have to write anything. I'll just ask the director to fix the potholes in my photo essay. He's a web-savvy guy.
