Robatsu, nice pick up! I don't understand why people get worked up about how bikes are acquired. The race is to the swift/creative...

Somebody mentioned that 1988 was True Temper. I was going to mention that this was not accurate, that 1988 560 as well as 1987 was Reynolds 531 but fortunately I checked the catalog before gigantically inserting my foot in my mouth.
And great kudos to tugrul on knowledge and super build on 1988 560... |

Hmm. When I was a small child, we lived at 508 Ellsworth Drive. That's the other end of the road, just a few doors up from Dale Drive, as I recall. It's been over 40 years, but I thought I remembered it clearly enough. Do they call it Ellsworth Street now? That would be odd.

I'm sorry, it is Ellsworth Drive

For anybody else following this thread who is not familiar with this particular model, it is a really nice bike. The Reynolds 531 decal probably gave that it away, however.
The Trek product brochure from 1987 with model 560 information! http://vintage-trek.com/images/trek/87TrekCatalog.pdf robatsu... good thing you picked it up, since you can appreciate it. Pairs up nicely with the Trek in your other recent thread...I have an '85 520, so I was following it. |

Oh, wait. Senility is when you remember your childhood clearly, and you don't remember what you had for dinner. And I haven't had dinner yet. Or have I? Uh... never mind. Good score on the bike! Is this a keeper? |

You know there's probably a better than average chance one of #1-5 might be reading this.
Nice bike, nice price and what a pretty color! DD |
Perhaps 1-5 are on the fixie forum now, ruing their idled dremels? Or maybe they are my other 5 personalities?

It's not the early bird that get's the worm, but the fastest! #1 should have been admiring his new Trek 560 bike in is garage or living room by the time you saw it! "I'll go and look at it tomorrow", famous last words! A lot of these tomorrows never materialize due to buyer's remorse etc. Most of the time they never call to indicate that they are no longer interested, and so a person that was very interested may lose out, if he/she never get's a call from the seller. The score is a ligitimate. Congratulations!

You should fill that up with water and take the kids - in their bathing suits - for ride around the neighborhood :)
I wonder what it would feel like to be lugging 330 pounds. |

Heh, I was thinking about this and wondered if they would list the capacity of that bucket in gallons. Turns out that they do: 40 gallons.
