I promised to get rid of 3 bikes when I got my last one. I am seriously overstocked. I agree that the most recent doesn't have to be the first one to go.
What, serious discussion of the subject at hand? What's wrong with this picture?

The focus on the last bike you bought is part of the point: ride it or sell it. When you buy a bike, stop thinking about buying bikes!

Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC

I don't have a "bicycle aquisition" problem, but I might be starting on a "component aquisition" problem instead.
Is there a pledge to sign to fight against that?

It's no problem until a "money" problem forces it to be. That, or an angry significant other.

When you have 2x more wheels hanging in your garage than you have on your running bikes, and much more than half of them don't even FIT your running bikes then you might suffer from WAS (Wheel Acquisition Syndrome.)

As an electrician who has done his fair share of vault/feeder work the thought of having a big heavy metal disc at home that I've labored to remove and replace many thousands of times interests me not in the least bit.

People are strange.

Four pages and not a single photo of a bike?

Aside from the one that got in the shot of the bricks.

Well, it'd be theft-proof. One would need a fork-lift to steal it (or even move the darn thing.)

lol, but if each one of those was a bike you'd be up to your eyeballs! comparatively less space.

I don't about that Peugeot, but the Schwinn Varsity was a super heavy tank at about 50 pounds.

There use to be a custom bike builder who had a bike line he named Anvil.

Oh, now I get it!

I have one of those. The entry level model from the Velox Cycle Co (Alvin Drysdale) in NYC was called the Alvin. I thought it was because of the builder's name, but now I see it was really an anagram for anvil. Cool.

No, I was referring to this: https://www.anvilbikes.com/soon.html I guess he's still in business.

I'm overstocked on bikes---I won't deny it. I've admitted it to my wife, but told her that the problem is that I need to ride them all often enough and long enough to decide which to sell and which to keep. I've not yet told her that may take several years.

What? I just keep them all regardless if I don't ride them long and often enough. I'm hoping my grandson will grow to be about 6' or so and I can give him one...of course he's only about 3' tall so I guess it's going to be a few years before I find out he'll get to 6' or so.
