I've got to agree with the others on this, I know you just bought those Nuovo Record sidepulls from me, but I think you should save those for another build. Mafacs would be sweet on this frame. Well done!
I would totally be interested in that stem RHM, feel free to PM me and let me know what you want for it!
The brake bridge is pretty cool, I agree. I have some Weinmanns I could put on, or I could look for some Mafacs or Dia Compes. I also have some Nuovo Record sidepull calipers I just bought from Force. I tend to prefer sidepulls, but I don't want to ignore that cool bridge. We'll see.
The Bob Jackson / JRJ name change is why I was curious about the date... I was wondering if it was a little bit older. I suppose he could have been using both names for a while, but I don't know. Maybe a Jackson expert will chime in.
I think the main reason I went for this is that the first bike I really thought, "Woah, that's cool!" about was a Bob Jackson. There of course have been many since then, but that was the first.

That one frame makes me hate all of mine in a single instant... it's AWESOME!

I'll echo the other compliments here...it's a beautiful, unique bike. I REALLY dig it and think a NR group will make that baby SHINE. I also think Mafac racers would be a great compliment to it as well as some fluted fenders.

Well, I guess I'll take the compliments to mean that I am NOT crazy.
I will have to use this thread as evidence when I receive the frame: "Look honey, these folks REALLY know bikes and they're all into it!"
Anybody got any Mafacs they want to sell or trade?!

ColonelJLloyd is graciously going to sell me some Mafac Racers for a great price, and RHM likewise for a GB stem. You guys rule. I believe I have located an English threaded Nuovo Record BB as well, so basically as soon as I have it all in hand, I'll be good to go! I just need to actually build up the wheels. I'll be using the "Nuovo Tipo" hubs and 27" Fiamme yellow rims from the Atala for now. If something nicer comes along eventually I'll switch them back to the Atala. No word yet from the seller about the serial number.

That is something else! -( A Bob Jackson surely, but still something else! )
- And what are the chances of finding another one in this lifetime?
Stupendous find, lostarchitect. We are all looking forward to seeing this built up.

I'm getting slightly worried... It has been a day and a half and I have no communication from the seller. I've sent him 4 messages. He has 100% positive feedback and over 400 reviews, so that's the only thing keeping me from freaking. What do you guys think? Every previous time I've bought on ebay someone responds to me shortly after. Have I just been lucky? I suppose there's not much I can do but wait--but I did pay immediately after winning, so he's certainly not waiting on me.

He doesn't say where he is, just "East coast". Perhaps he's just dealing with the hurricane. Hopefully he's ok (and the bike is ok, too). I'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he shows up soon. Hope your cannondale seller turns up, too.

I'd be freaking, but if he's on the "East Coast," I'm guessing that he's either preparing for Hurricane Irene or it's already come his way and he's lost power/internet access. Best of luck to you, both with the bike and the storm. I'm in Poughkeepsie, and the forecast calls for us to get hammered, here, too.

Whew, he wrote me back. Feeling much better now. He provided the serial and is shipping the frame out on Monday. I've sent the serial over to Bob Jackson cycles to see what info they can give me.

So, this is a dumb question, but I have no experience with this so here it is:
My Nuovo Record shifters are on a bracket. This frame has brazed on bosses. Can I just remove them from the bracket and attach them to the frame or do I need some additional parts for that? I disassembled them and it looks like they'll go right on, but I want to be sure.

Yes you can mount your shifters onto the brazed on bosses as they are but you will need a left and right lever stop bracket that fits over the square section at the base of each boss.

Bikes: 1970 Holdsworth Mistral, Vitus 979, Colnago Primavera, Corratec Hydracarbon, Massi MegaTeam, 1935 Claud Butler Super Velo, Carrera Virtuoso, Viner, 1953 Claud Butler Silver Jubilee, 1954 Holdsworth Typhoon, 1966 Claud Butler Olympic Road, 1982 Claud
I remember these: In the very early 1970's all Prugnat - lugged Claud Butlers and Holdsworths came with these decals. My new1971 Claud Butler needed a complete respray within the first year after going through a hawthorn hedge on a failed fast descent with me aboard! Holdsworths sent me replacement decals free of charge from their Anerley Road, Penge offices, including a strip of 10 of these. (Holdsworth took over the Claud Butler brand in 1957). I had the other 9 decals for years until I lost them in a gouse move.
