Color scheme options/ introduction.

Hello guys this is actually going to be my first post since I am new to this forum as well as biking. I do love it and have had my bike for about a month now and id say have close to 400 miles on it thus far. anyways, I'm just going to start off being a complete Noob by asking for advice for a color scheme for my bike since i recently came to acquire a blue Miyata 1000 and i restored it with help of a community LBS. I think i am over the yellow though.

Haha, I rocked blue/yellow until someone said my bike was the Blue Angels' bike. Nothing wrong with the Blue Angels, they're amazing!

Hey man, welcome to the forum. One thing that I think makes almost any bike look better is having brake hoods. I honestly like the yellow and blue combo but if you need to switch it up some black wrap and cable housing can probably be acquired for about 15$ and would look nice. It just depends on you, do you want it loud? If so, you could go orange.

What ever you do, you've got a sweet bike there.

haha thanks! but yeah i actually put on some yellow tires just to see what it all looks like, and man is it LOUD! haha, i just feel like im taking this beautiful classic bike and turning it into a clashy mess lol, i was honestly thinking of going to a brown saddle brown tape look, or a white saddle white tape look, and it seems a lot of my friends and others prefer the hoods on their brakes.

Nice bike. Yellow is blue's complimentary color on a color wheel. Is that cork bar tape? I think natural cork wrap or black would look nice, or if you want to get fancy some nice stitch on leather.

Here are the hoods you need for those particular levers.

Loose Screws sells them for $10 + shipping. I used a gum pair to restore a blue Miyata 1000 over last winter. Best of luck.

Yellow tape, yellow housing, gum hoods, and brown leather saddle (I think that bike would look nice with a Regal. May not be your kind of saddle though).

You could get away with black housing at the rear derailleur if you want.
