yep, I hear you. This one went out in a box today. I was tempted to run after the Fed Ex truck as it drove away.

No, because it was completely redundant with the Opus IV....that's the ONLY reason.

Dang, I really have to glue those tires on the Opus IV, tired of riding it gingerly :)

Regret selling my 67 Chevelle about 20 years ago

and I regret buying my 71 Fiat about 33 years ago(Worst POS that I ever owned)

Don't have any photos to share, but it seems every time I decide to sell something "I won't need" it turns out down the road I do need it. Some things that come to mind....a gray Ultegra 600 dual pivot brakeset, several Campag cranks, a set of Super LJ derailleurs, large flange Campag Record hubs laced to 700c Rigida rims to name a few.

Ditto on selling both my 65 Ford Falcon and 61 Starliner (really regret that one).

From a cycling perspective I regret giving my brother my '84 Peugeot PSV.

I threw out a full campy super record groupo by mistake. Does that count?

He put that saddle on it 5 years ago so that he could ride around a bit on it, that is the original owner of the bike in the photo. It is a '67 so I guess that puts him in the 70+ age group. He didn't throw out the original Unicantor saddle and it was included in the sale.

My slight regrets were before digital cameras. Way before, so no pics. 71 PX-10, because it had lots of great memories attached; a second hand Windsor Pro. But the one that makes me wince a bit is the Raleigh Competition I bought new. That was a nice bike. No real strong regrets though. I try to look back with fond memories. Still, I wish I still had that black Raleigh with the Jubilee derailleurs.

Maybe I should ride my Comp this upcoming C&V weekend. Alas, no more Jubilee tho.

My only regret is that I stopped cycling for recreation for a few years after college, and that I didn't find this forum and hobby sooner.

Those are some tight fenders there, Scott.

That's a beauty, and I love the fender-line especially!

Well, I posted my beloved Lotus Classique on the local C/L as a lark, it was really too small, but it was the one bike I had left stock, and the bike that had been in my keeper fleet the longest. Wouldn't you know it, sold in a day. Told the buyer, I was getting ready to pull my ad and keep the bike...... I also sold off my Paramount Series 3 about two weeks ago, beautiful bike as well, but smallish.

So today I picked up the chrome Katakura Silk, more my size, kind of interesting. I'll build it up with vintage parts, and it will take the place of the Lotus. We'll see how this plan works out. Can't keep every bike, and I have plenty.

Wrong! Not Sante, although I wish it had been. That's a RX100 group with a factory white RX100 crank! Shimano made a limited number of white RX100 cranks and brakes. I got the crank from an eBay seller in Poland.

J.Wolfe 09-13-11 10:26 PM

instead of regretting the sale of a bike. i regret the color of my bike.

it is a golden brown. dont get me wrong i LOVE the bike itself and will probably never sell it, but as far as colors and accents go i am left little choices. i personally like brown accents for the classy look, but that would be brown overkill. so i feel ive been backed into a corner to do white. that is a complete paint in the ass to keep clean even though it looks really good lol. granted i could throw some color on the bar tape and clip straps, its just not what i want to do personally.

because of this i plan on tearing the bike down and completely restoring/painting the frame a new color. putting exact new decals on the bike to keep it authentic/stock looking.

this will happen in the off season when its too cold, windy, and snowy to ride in the city :)

You sold your Lotus . . . . Blasphemy!!!!

Was that the blue-ish late 80's model ('86 I think) . . . w/ garage door pic? (If my memory serves). I was going to write and ask the owner for photos of that bike for the website, but then it was gone before I got a chance!

Oh, or the burgundy one with yellow bar tape?

I regret selling my Silver 1982 Guerciotti Jet that I built piece by piece with all Campy Super Record, Cinelli and tubular rims, the frame was my high school graduation present. We were buying our first home and at the same time I also sold my 32,000 mile all original 1972 Chevelle SS 454 . . .

Beautiful bikes!

I kinda feel better now. At least the ones I let go are not on the same leaque as these bikes.
If I ever have a chance to have one of these bikes, and it fits, I don't think I'll ever let go.
