serial number format

hi there,
anyone got a guess what make had this serial number format:
N4S5293
I'd think the bike is a late 80s Japanese built.
Cheers,

No pics, the serial number's location, ID (decal, headbabge, or?) a component or two manufacturer's name, to help out with your question?
