My '72 " Fuji "The Finest". (A very sweet rider.)

Been messing with this one. It was mostly unridden when I got it. '83 Royale II. Replaced the tires, brake cables, brake hoods and saddle. The catalogs show this bike with DT shifters but the BarCons look to be original as it had the original black cloth tape which I over-wrapped with new. The housing has that odd routing shown in the old Fuji photos exiting from under the tape higher up on the bars which may explain the sluggish RD gear change. I have a nice set of BL shifters and may use those with wider bars.

My 83 Opus III which has been featured on Fuji Otaku. It's currently my training bike.

I bought and sold this bike, a Fuji Cambridge VI. Six speeds.

Tom do you have pics of that Fuji you had a few years ago with the Gold Rims? I wanna say it was a Fuji Professional (?)

I found that bike to be uninspiring. Maybe what you really liked were the tires. They were 18mm or 20mm. I know you're a fat tire fan, but sometimes, skinny tires are fun, too. Try a pair. I think I have some Continental 18's you're welcome to have.



I ended up putting that padded Serfas saddle on my Super Course. I think it's time to retire it. My nether region hurts on the day after I ride it. It's too padded.

I think it was the first time you and I had got together to ride....matter of fact it was the first time I'd met anyone from C&V in person and I think we rode every one of your bikes that was in rideable condition that day. I remember I tried Brifters for the first time on (i think) your Maclean, and we took a 10-15 mile ride where I rode that Team Fuji.

I'm sure my memory of it is greater than the bike actually was but at the time it was probably the highest end bike I'd ever ridden.

I'm unfamiliar with FUJIs, however, our son has asked for 'one of the old, yellow FUJIs.'

Over the course of the past few years of perusing the intArwebz and looking over this thread, I don't ever recall seeing a yellow Fuji- are there yellow Fuji bikes; is there a special model that went with that color?

Of course, our son is 20 and by "old" he might mean from like 2009.

Maybe it was the relatively light weight. Or maybe it was the gold rims!

Thanks for remembering all that. I had forgotten most of it. The brifters were on my Cross Check. They'll be going on my McLean for the first time. At least I think they will.

I got decent money for the Fuji, so I couldn't pass it up. I sold it to a woman entering a sprint triathlon. I wonder how she did. I sold a lot of bikes with 23" frames, all to tall women. My favorite of that lot was the Schwinn Prelude. Man, that was a sleeper of a bike.

The Special Road Racer (S-10S) came in yellow.

I've been looking for somewhere to post the 1977 Fuji Junior that I bought via CL, and fixed up for my daughter who'd been begging for a real road bike. They're hard to find in a kid size these days, so the old Junior was perfect. We stripped the parts off it, had the frame powder coated in a color of her choosing, cleaned and lubed everything, put it back together, had a devil of a time finding tires for it, and very recently added decals from Velocals:

It's almost all original, but the color is neither the stock blue or red that the bike was available in. It seemed almost black when we got it.

Here is my 1974 Special Road Racer.

One of my Wife's clients came into her office and told her he was moving to Mexico and was selling all of his "stuff". She said "got any bikes?"

Included in the sale was the original owners manual, warranty card and a brochure for replacement parts, components and accessories.

I cleaned it up and went through the headset, hubs, and bottom bracket. It rides like an absolute dream. Very enjoyable.

I have a pretty green 70's Special Road Racer and was wondering what kind of tubing the frame is made of. I can't find any stickers. I'm thinking maybe Hi Ten for that vintage but it seems lighter than that. Anyone know?

Here is a 1987 Club Fuji that I used to own. Sadly, it was strange year for the Club Fuji in that it was not blessed with lugs.
