I wonder how one would align the stays if they ever got bent. I've done it with the cool park tool on straight tubes before, but am curious about bikes with curved stays like this.

If the stays ever get bent (more than they are by design) then I intend to send it to Dave Kirk for him to resolve.

Pearl white & BRG Metallic
Pearl White & rich red (candy or metallic?)
medium steel blue w/ white and silver
That's pretty much the options. I'm open to suggestions, keep in mind I'm going for a modern twist on a classic look.

Pearl White and rich red candy would be excellent.....and should work with the parts as I recall them

the white and red is a common combo, and while I wouldn't mind it, trying to think of something a bit more unique yet fitting. I'll have to see what each would run.

Still waiting on my spot in Joe Bell's queue to open up. It's given me time to reflect and consider paint (and component) choices. Unless the price upgrade for pearl white / some rich jewel tone candy color is not as much as I suspect it will be, there's about an 80% chance that the frame will be painted a combination of Honda Atomic Blue Metallic & white w/ silver accent. I've seen a number of medium blue / white bikes lately and just can't see me getting tired of that combination, and the Atomic Blue is just dark enough to stand a bit apart from the typical medium blue / white combo.
I've got my pedals purchased, and wheels ordered (those should be arriving in the next new weeks). I'll likely go with Ritchey parts for bar/stem/post as they have treated me well in the past on my Fuji.

I am using a nearly identical color scheme for my Walter Croll project.
We looked at the House of Kolor samples a month ago, and just looked at some Imron samples a week ago before I dropped the frame off to have cantilever posts and eyelets brazed on.
Paint goes on right after this work is completed.
Your project is a dream build for me, so I really appreciate you taking the time to share.

The plan is for something very similar in fact. No chrome, but there will be some silver accent in the decals and frame details. Color will be slightly lighter:
Color changes quite a bit in the sun. I'd call it a medium silvery blue. Planning on using paint mask decals where possible, especially on the seat tube panel so that Kirk's logo is in the primary blue color within the white panel.
Please do post photos when the paint is complete, and if you went with Imron, I'd love to get the color code information if it is very close to the Atomic Blue.

Well this is interesting.

Can't wait for pics of both the Kirk and the Walter Croll. I was loving this Kirk before I found out it would have my favorite color combination!

Wheels arrive tomorrow by the end of the day (so says UPS). Need to buy some skewers for the wheels, and I'll probably get the tires mounted up too just because. Wonder if I could get the wheels with the 11sp cassette to play nice with the 10sp setup on the Serotta in one reasonable gear to give them a spin.

They'll be fine for a spin...10s will just over shift too much.

Wheels are in. Got to get them wrapped in rubber tomorrow, then throw the 11sp cassette on and see about taking them around the block a few times on the Fuji to get a feel for them.
