I've got a question about the serial number on my '78 Paramount P13-9
The E7824 on the chainstay is for May '78 manf. date. What's the 1598 that's stamped on the Paramount headtube badge for? Has someone change the badge?

The frame was the 24th frame built in May, so probably early May. I'm too lazy to figure out the 159th day of 1978, I thought it was early May, maybe I'm mistaken. Doesn't matter, as long as the assembly date is after the day the frame was built, all is well. June would be a possibility for assembly if the frame was built in May. Obviously there's no way a bicycle can be assembled before the frame was built. Frames might stay around the factory for some time before the assembly takes place.

The frame was built in May, and the bike was assembled in June.
