Ha ha it didn't look like this in the kijiji pic! I may only be halfway through the clean-up but it looks like a different bike already. I may have to copy you and go for white tires! I did some work on the original bartape last night and it's not as bad as I thought. I'll see if I can remove it, clean it and then re-wrap. It would be cool to keep the bike 100% original.
Bianchigirl the bike is a little smaller (54) than my optimal size, which is 56. I lowered the seatpost a little and will do the same with the stem - it should still fit ok. Right now it's -15 degrees in Toronto, so it's a buyer's market. I'm planning on picking up as many bikes as possible right now, fixing them all up and then decide in the Spring which ones are keepers and which ones are sellers. I'll wait for nice weather to give each one a long shakedown ride, since that counts for as much as looks as far as the "keeper" qualifications.

Provides evidence that someone actually rides the bicycle versus leaving it on a hook its entire life.
To the op, looks like a fun rider and project.
