Seat Post Size Question

Anyone ever heard of an early Merckx Corsa (early to mid 80's) with SL tubing using a 26.8 seat post? Did Columbus SL have a standard seat tube diameter?

Afaik columbus sl is always 27.2. Most likely they just clamped down a smaller seat post in there. That has happened on the last 3 bikes I have bought.
