He and AL Stiller, Babe VandeVelde, Frank VanHaute would get the reserved seating at the finish line on big track nights. Othon was always shown a lot of respect, though I hadn't a clue who he was till someone explained to me who he was. And the fact he was Swiss pursuit champion in 1919, holy cow.
It was rather tongue in cheek that I say he is getting older...I believe he is in his early 80s or so now.

He is VERY respected among everybody in the industry. He was just a little funny when asked where the Chrome frame came from.. He seemed very flippant about it. AHHHH I dont know! LOL

Did you know the Krons?

Oh yeah. Raced with Eddy. We were same age. And Theo, Willy, oh and Robert who was a bit younger. Were there more? Theo was always really nice to me. Took me aside and explained some of the finer points to racing, especially if I really screwed up on the track! Those kinds of guys aren't around anymore. I was very lucky to have experienced that.

And of course Theos calling to the line...
"Chewnyas to the line, Seenyas on deck".

I dont know them Honestly. I know of them. I worked as a vendor with George Garner Cyclery for many years and saw their pictures on the walls. Also I purchased a bicycle owned by Ed. I have his Schwinn Superior from 81.
